Poll: What’s Bruce Campbell’s most memorable role?

Whether you love 'The Evil Dead,' 'Burn Notice' or 'Spider-Man,' you've got to love Bruce Campbell. What's his most memorable role?

Right now, Bruce Campbell is beloved by Burn Notice fans (and me) as the incorrigible Sam Axe. There are some people who will never forget his Ash from the Evil Dead movies. There are others who have never seen an Evil Dead movie (me … that would be me again). What do you think Bruce Campbell’s most memorable role is?

As Kona says, “Definitely Evil Dead– Or Bubba Ho-tep. Although, I’m sure there’s a large number of Burn Notice fans who have no idea what Evil Dead is.” (Not me — I’ve at least heard of the movies.)

Some of us also have no idea what Bubba Ho-tep is, but Michael votes for that role as well: “I’m going with Bubba Ho-tep. Just more proof that ‘Elvis is everywhere.’  Even in your Nutty Buddy….”

But I also have never seen Hercules: The Legendary Journeys or Xena: Warrior Princess and Bruce gives good Autolycus, apparently.

Brett‘s vote goes to Evil Dead: I would say the Evil Dead series, simply based on staying power. Next year will mark the 30th anniversary of the first movie, and it’s still in regular rotation on cable. (I just watched Army Of Darkness again on cable a month or so ago, even though I have the DVD). I’m sure there are still people just discovering Evil Dead for the first time. That’s 30 years of making fans.

Ivey, Bob and Keith couldn’t type fast enough to remind me that Bruce had cameos in all of the Spider-Man movies.

What do you think? Weigh in by voting in the poll and leaving a comment.

Since this is asking for most memorable, I had to say Ash. that was a no brainer. having said that, I think he is doing his best work (acting) on burn notice. Sam Axe and Bruce Campbell are totally separate entities (though Chuck Finley is more like classic Bruce). In everything else he has been in, he was mainly just campy. he has really surprised me on burn notice with his actual acting. I’m a huge Campbell fan and have seen most of his stuff, so I like to think I know what I’m talking about (even read his books) lol
