15 things I liked about this episode of Burn Notice

The latest episode of Burn Notice was mostly filler, but that doesn't mean I don't have things to discuss. Fifteen things to be precise.

- Season 3, Episode 14 - "Partners in Crime"

Season three of Burn Notice is winding down quickly. Only two episodes remain. Time is definitely flying. Last night’s installment was mostly filler with the exception of one huge piece of news delivered at the conclusion. Apparently, Mikey boy is supposed to help the enigmatic Mr. Gilroy spring a nastier than nasty bad guy from some remote black ops site. What’s a burned spy searching for answers to do? Knowing Mike, it will involve a complex plot chock full of risk. Life on the high wire makes for all kinds of crazy drama.

Since there wasn’t a whole lot of the bigger picture revealed, I figured I’d point out some of my favorite bits and nuggets. Here are 15 things that caught my eye during the proceedings:

15) Fiona saving Mike, again, by conking Polish Conrad on the head with her rifle butt.

14) Sam and the world of high fashion not jelling one iota.

13) Fi in glasses. The sexy librarian look never fails to please.

12) Money and a cause are the perfect combo when baiting a potential asset.

11) Sam’s accusation that Mike cheated on the coin flip. Hilarious.

10) The “Stylish Bastard” subtitle. Normally I find them somewhat aggravating, but not that one. Don’t know why.

9) Maddie’s enormous tray of cubed cheese. Mmmm… cheese….

8) “Looks like murder… is in style this season.” The first of two odes to David Caruso and his annoying sunglasses, delivered by Finley the Forensics Investigator, aka Sam.

7) Fiona as the weak timid girl in Mike’s trunk. I didn’t buy it, but that’s why it worked.

6) Mike’s bullying of douchebag Damon.

5) The bad guys fucking up Mike’s mojo by using a remote detonated bomb.

4) Mike using his superior marksmen skills to blow up said remote bomb. Hey man, nice shot.

3) “Looks like the killer’s plan is… coming apart at the seams.” The second ode to that asshat David Caruso.

2) Maddie and Mike making progress, sort of.

1) After working him the whole episode, Fiona getting the info from Polish Conrad.

That’s all Burn buddies. See ya next week.

Did anyone else think that they dubbed in another voice over Damon’s?

It was like things didn’t sync up 100% and it just looked “off”

Maybe it was just me.

I noticed that too. Looked like a couple of Mike’s lines were dubbed also. Maybe a mic went bad or there was too much background noise. Think they were outdoor scenes.

I wonder if the prisoner on the rendition flight will turn out to be Michael’s father in the season finale, or if they’re saving him for a different reveal?

Probably too soon to reveal daddy, but the same thought did cross my mind.

You don’t like the subtitles they put on people? I consider that one of the genius differences between BN and other shows. Oh well, just MHO. :)

I’m Polish. Apart from Condrad looking nothing like Polish, the episode was hilarious. Did you know that a few years back there was a scandal about CIA having a secret prison for terrorists in Poland. This is propably why they said Simon was being transported to Poland :)
