Desperate Housewives – Somebody call 911!

While nothing major happened on 'Desperate Housewives' last night, we did get a few interesting tidbits -- a confrontation, a revelation, exploitation and a minor altercation! All in all, it was the norm.

- Season 8, Episode 19 - "With So Little to Be Sure Of"

Time is winding down on Wisteria Lane and with only two episodes left until its series finale, Desperate Housewives managed to crank out an installment that wasn’t particularly mesmerizing, yet managed to advance some ongoing plots. At this late in the game, I typically yearn for episodes filled to the brim with drama and substance, but I guess I’ll have to settle for the latest decent happenings of our favorite desperate broads. Where do I even begin?

With the mystery storyline wrapped up, I’ve found interest in Bree’s new plot last night. It would be more interesting to see Gabrielle in the hot seat considering the whole source of drama this season came from her wicked stepfather, but I suppose the writers were running out of ideas with Bree. I mean, they can only give her so many boyfriends, right? Seeing a crooked cop try to take her down does add a dose of intrigue to the show, but we all know Bree is going to be just fine.

Speaking of people that are doing fine, was it just me or did Susan bounce back relatively fast after losing Mike? She’s not fully back to normal, but she is definitely in a lighter mood. In the last episode, we saw her grieving. However in this one, other than discovering Mike’s secret — which, to me, was dull — she seemed a lot closer to her normal self. She was even smiling at Renee’s bridal shower. I didn’t find Susan’s story particularly interesting, but I did enjoy Gabrielle’s. It’s nice to see that the tables have turned in her relationship with Carlos. Granted she shouldn’t be telling her gentleman clients that she isn’t married, but Gaby has bills to pay. Carlos need to suck it up.

And so does Jane for that matter. I understand her wanting Tom all to herself, but she made a decision to get involved with a married man. So, if Tom is taking his precious time in handing Lynette the divorce papers, then Jane’s just going to have to deal with it. You know, it is amazing to me that the writers have found a way to stretch out this Lynette and Tom separation plot. While it hasn’t always been enjoyable, I have to give the writers credit — they did a good job at mapping it out. My only question is — whatever happened to Frank, Lynette’s new main squeeze?

Desperate Housewives returns April 29 with more new episodes. That’s a three week break, but after that it’s straight cruising towards the finale. So, what will we ponder until the series returns? Well, for starters, will Lynette and Tom get back together? Will Susan try to befriend Mike’s secret sister? Will Bree fall in love with her new lawyer played by Scott Bakula? I mean, if these past seasons have been any inclination, it’s been proven that Bree likes her men. Sound off in the comments below!

As soon as I saw Scott Bakula..I thought..Bree’s going to end up with him, they wouldn’t just bring him on for a quickie lawyer role. He will be the one that Bree rides off into the sunset with. I guess Susan will end up just being with Julie and the baby??

Lynette and Tom need to end up together and Jane just needs to get out of the way. They never really tried to work it out after they separated and that is just unrealistic. Besides, how can Tom be with Jane when she and Lynette have so much hostility now?
