I’ve figured out what’s going to happen on the Community finale

Like Tom Hanks in 'The Davinci Code' (except you know, good), I have pieced the clues together to reveal the truth. I think I know what they don't want you to know ... YET. I think I know what's going to happen in the season finale of 'Community.' Brace yourselves; it's shiny.

OK, check it …

Last night, I read an article on Zap2It exploring the set of the season finale. It mentioned the second paintball episode was going to be western themed — this was actually hinted at on the news ticker during the election episode if you looked real closely. The article also said, “at least one other cult movie/genre will also get a nod in the finale.” In that same article they showed some pictures, but noted that a couple of pictures from the set were taken down after the production asked nicely. However, someone who saw the pictures before they were taken down commented that Annie looked cute in her Firefly-like costume. Firefly, you say? Hmmm …

But it doesn’t stop there. One of the pictures kept up in the article showed Troy (Donald Glover) from the back in his costume for the episode. But his costume — white tank, yellow cargo pants and twin gun holsters — looks less like traditional western and more like the cunning Hero of Canton. And we already know Troy and Abed are more than familiar with Firefly:

And, if you follow the incomparable Nathan Fillion on Twitter, you might have noticed he mentioned visiting the Community set last week to “see if Donald Glover actually saw Firefly.” YEAH, I’m sure he just stopped by on a whim. On the same week they were filming the finale.

So, I’m betting that “extra genre” the article mentioned for the episode is actually space western, AKA Firefly — with an awesome cameo from Fillion to boot! Hence, it will be awesome. Oh, and I would bet dollars to donuts that Allison Brie will be dressed as Kaylee … yep, I’m gonna just let the horny fanboys think about that for a moment.

When I explained this all to CliqueClack editor Keith McDuffee, he immediately replied, “First, that really would be awesome if they pulled that off and were also able to keep it a secret. Also, you should write that theory up in a post!” I mention this so that when Community creator Dan Harmon sends an assassin after us for revealing his secret, he’ll go after Keith first and I’ll have time to go underground and/or to Mexico. The writer you knew as Katie Schenkel is dead. Say hello to Miguel Sanchez!

While you are in Mexico you could be a private investigator..you did some great detective work Katie! I can’t wait to see the finale even though it means no more Community for a while.

Katie, I hope you’re right. This would be the next best thing to Firefly actually coming back to television. The intelligent humor on both shows should dovetail nicely.

BTW, while you’re down in Mexico could you pick me up a few bottles of Kahlua? I just got back from a cruise and neglected to get it while I could pay under $9 then get hit with sticker shock when it’s $22 in my local grocery! (The on-board duty-free shop had sold out by then. I guess I was the only one who failed to realize just how cheap the stuff was!)

I think this is an astoundingly good guess and I hope you’re right!

I loved you working this out. I hope it’s right. I also hope for a Firefly reboot. Anyway, time for more from Miguel Sanchez.

I wouldn’t be surprised if somehow the whole cast made appearances throughout the episode…but maybe that’s just me. Still…they did get LeVar Burton up in there.

I’d love to see them find a reason to have LeVar back on if for nothing else than to see Troy’s stare! I’m still laughing at, “More fish for Kunta.”

Hmm a nice mix of Aliens and cowboys, isnt the movie Aliens vs Cowboys coming out soon? Maybe they are gearing towards that move as well!
