Firefly – Where are they now?

Where have the regular cast members of 'Firefly' landed since the 'Serenity' movie? One is the male lead of a hit TV series, another played kick ass roles in canceled-to-soon shows, one will appear in the upcoming series, while others guest star here and there.

Nathan Fillion

Firefly role: He played Captain Malcolm “Mal” Reynolds

Where is he now?: Playing charismatic novel writer Richard Castle on the ABC hit show Castle. From time to time, he also lends his voice to various animated characters in video games and animated TV series.

Gina Torres

Firefly role: Zoë Washburne

Where is she now?: Last year, she was a regular on ABC Family’s Huge, where she played Dr. Dorothy Rand. Since then, she voiced Wonder Woman in a video game titled DC Universe Online and Airachnid in the TV series Transformer Prime. She has also completed work on a TV movie titled A Legal Mind, and another movie titled Mr. Sophistication, which will also star Robert Patrick.

Alan Tudyk

Firefly role: Hoban “Wash” Washburne

Where is he now?: Besides voicing characters in various animated series, such as Youth Justice, he is quite busy with movies. His upcoming projects include Transformers: Dark of the Moon and Strange Frame: Love & Sax, also starring fellow Firefly cast member Ron Glass. Tudyk played a lead character in the pilot of Suburgatory, a new ABC comedy recently picked up to air Wednesdays this fall and also starring Jeremy Sisto. He is also attached to the MTV animated series Good Vibes, which is currently in development.

Morena Baccarin

Firefly role: Inara Serra

Where is she now?: The actress played evil Queen V Anna on the ABC series V and she recently guest starred on an episode of CBS’ The Mentalist.

Adam Baldwin

Firefly role: Jayne Cobb

Where is he now?: He plays Agent John Casey on NBC’s Chuck and voices Breakdown, a character in the animated series Transformers Prime.

Jewel Staite

Firefly role: Kaylee Frye

Where is she now?: Since her Firefly stint, she played Heidi Gotts in the canceled-too-soon TV series Wonderfalls and portrayed Dr. Jennifer Keller on Stargate: Atlantis . She will appear in a TV movie titled Doomsday Prophecy and in a movie titled P5Ych alongside Battlestar Galactica‘s Paul Campbell.

Sean Maher

Firefly role: Dr. Simon Tam

Where is he now?: This year he appeared in a few episodes of the TV series Make It or Break It as Marcus. His name is also attached to NBC’s upcoming series The Playboy Club.

Summer Glau

Firefly role: River Tam

Where is she now?: Since playing River, Summer Glau has starred in several TV series in kick ass roles such as Cameron Phillips on Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, Benneth Halverson on Dollhouse, and Orwell on The Cape. Her next projects are movies The Legend of Hell’s Gate: An American Conspiracy with Eric Balfour and Knights of Badassdom with Peter Dinklage and Steve Zahn.

Ron Glass

Firefly role: Shepherd Book

Where is he now?: In the past years, he guest starred on various TV series such as Shark and Dirty Sexy Money. He recently appeared in an episode of CSY: NY. You’ll next be able to see him in Strange Frame: Love & Sax, a movie in which Alan Tudyk also appears.
