The Big Bang Theory – Superheroes, sidekicks and hormones, oh my

I'd like to see an episode in which Amy Farrah Fowler and Leslie Winkel drive Sheldon bonkers. He might just have to become a cat man again. Bazinga!

- Season 4, Episode 10 - "The Alien Parasite Hypothesis"

Hubba hubba, Amy Farrah Fowler is horny

After a few weeks of The Big Bang Theory withdrawal, finally we have a new episode! Bubbly all around, please. Mayim Bialik is back as Amy Farrah Fowler, Sheldon’s “she’s not my girlfriend” interest. Every time they focus on her, we learn just a bit more about the character. Tonight we learned she isn’t an android.

How did we learn that? She got horny! Yep, Ms. Science herself fell to simple biology. Out with the girls, she met Zach Johnson, the handsome sexy dude who used to date Penny. Yes, the man without a brain. But he does kind of ooze sexuality from just about every pore.

Her reaction to the never before experienced horniness was amusing — a high-pitched “hoo” which set Amy and Sheldon up for an absolutely perfect take on the old Abbott and Costello “who’s on first?” routine later on in the show. Typical Sheldon dismissed the idea of her symptoms being sexual arousal and focused on hyperthyroidism, onset of early menopause or even the possibility that she was hosting an alien parasite.

Horrors! She wants sex! After not being able to persuade her to use the Vulcan discipline of Kolinahr — sort of mind of matter, brainwashing yourself … what to do? (Oh, and don’t ask me how I know about Kolinahr. Perhaps I had some need to utilize it on occasion myself. But that’s none of your business.) Sheldon comes upon the perfect solution.

Amy Farrah Fowler needs to have sex. Sheldon’s the man! Er, no. He’s not. He enlists Zach. Upon seeing that Zach is purely a mimbo, Amy is satisfied, mentally if not sexually since all it took was a handshake. And they lived happily ever after.

The side story with Raj and Howard battling over who would be the superhero and who would be the sidekick was entertaining enough. But I think we need some ground rules.

1. Howard is never again to be featured wearing a tank top and tight wrestling pants. That’s almost scary.
2. Now that they’ve shared a kiss on an episode, they should end each episode with a kiss.

It’s good to have Thursday nights back!

Mayim is now a series regular. Her status has been bumped up a couple of weeks ago. So – she’s not back. She’s staying.

Wish Sheldon wore a different shirt this time. I’ve seen him wear that shirt a few times.

The Raj/Howard conflict should have stopped before the wrestling match. The spider scene in the cafeteria was awesome.
