Hung – A little Mars and Venus with the penis

hung_080209

Hung is getting more interesting. This week’s episode, “Do It, Monkey,” found Ray doing a little role playing. He was commissioned to play a book editor who picks up a woman changing her tire along the road. On their first encounter, he has sex with her right away, even though that’s not particularly what she wants. (And my question is, if she didn’t want that, why did she go along with it?)

So Tanya gives Ray a little pep talk and tells him not to be so quick with the trigger. Think more about the woman’s mind. Don’t rush into the sex thing, because maybe she just wants someone to pay attention to her.

Do-Over: Ray picks up the girl changing her tire along the road again. Only this time, he pays more attention to her, except … she goes to leave the restaurant, and apparently, he’s supposed to talk her out of leaving. Only he doesn’t.

Seriously, it’s like a mind-bending game of cat-and-mouse, which is pretty much how it is between real-life guys and girls. We’re supposed to be able to read the other person’s mind, and we get snippy when they can’t read ours. And sooner or later, the L word (that would be love) comes up. Who says it first? Is the other person obligated to then say it? Can’t live with ‘em, can’t live without ‘em!

All of this goes down in this week’s Hung, and it was pretty funny. It took the show in a different direction from the desperate male prostitute story. Now Ray has to figure out not only how to please a woman in bed, but how to make her feel special all the way around. He’s a happiness consultant, after all.

Sooner or later, though, Ray is going to fall for one of his clients. Oh yes, he is, mark my words. And then what?

Poor Tanya calling her mom, only to have cold water thrown on her pity party.

I also can’t wait for him to reach for the pearl necklace only to get snapped by the box…

Different Movie, Jane ;-)
