You know, I’m starting to think that this may be my favorite season of Royal Pains. Every episode has been entertaining. The same can be said about last night’s terrific installment. It seems that the writers are really into a good groove and most of the storylines are really firing on all cylinders.
Before I delve into some of the other plots, I really want to discuss a new storyline that took me by surprise — Jeremiah’s crush on Divya. I can’t say that I blame him. I think you all know how I feel about actress Reshma Shetty. Still, I was honestly intrigued by the idea that the writers started to go this route. In my humble opinion, I feel that Jeremiah has been one of the highlights of this season. I wasn’t so fond of him at first, but he’s grown on me tremendously, and I really enjoyed seeing him interact with Divya to help a patient. I’m rooting for him. Hell, I hope he wins her affections.
Anyway, the medical case of the week was a rather unique one. Aside from putting Jeremiah and Divya together, it gave us Pooch Hall of BET’s The Game as a martial arts master with a crying problem. That was nice … almost as nice as Evan’s subplot concerning him winning a Lamborghini. Sure, it was fluff, but I found it funny.
In fact, I found the majority of the episode to be enjoyable — everything that is except for Hank. It pains me to say this but I found Hank’s plot to be a little boring which is saying something considering that he’s the main character. Now, this is a problem. I like Boris. I like the element of intrigue that he brings to the show. However, the Hank and Boris stuff just wasn’t doing it for me. I’m actually thinking that the writers should turn Boris into a recluse and simply give Jeremiah more to do. I digress.
Nevertheless, one good thing did come from that particular plot — Hank found out that Christine, Jill’s pretty yet bland replacement, may be double-crossing him. I’ll admit that I’m somewhat interested in seeing where that goes, but it isn’t on my must-see list. Let’s hope the writers give Hank something else worthwhile because I didn’t find his plot with the undercover chick all that interesting either … but that’s enough grumbling for today.
Royal Pains spices up my Wednesday nights. Does it do the same for you? Are you intrigued by Jeremiah’s new crush on Divya? Should Hank break it off with Christine? Does Evan shop at JCPenney? Seriously, I want to know where he gets those colorful ensembles. Let me know!
Have not watched since they got rid of Jill. Don’t plan too. From the sounds of it the season is going downhill and fast. The writers lied. They promised we would see Jill this season and so far we have not. With only 5 episodes left i doubt we will.
Cristina is history. She was just a guest star. Nobody can replace Jill in Hank’s life. Sorry

Nancy, give it a chance. It’s not so bad. :-)
Guess Paulo Costanzo (Evan) should be winning awards for the job he does for being such a loathsome little weasel. Evan covets a car and at first it looks like he won’t get it. But, like divine fate, he gets one from a wealth doc that just happens to have one he’s not using. Which, I guess, is the problem I’ve always had with this show. Better name for this show would be “Deus ex Machina” ’cause except for Jill/Hank things always work out. Admittedly, I kill time with this show until “Necessary Roughness”.

Yeah, Evan is my least favorite. I like the way he dresses though. LOL Good show. Keep watching, Otto! I look forward to it every Wednesday.
I don’t want to “give it a chance” Not until they bring Jill back. Saying “It’s not so bad” does not sound that encouraging.

Then let me correct myself — it’s not bad at all actually…at least in my opinion. With all due respect, Jill is only one character and as the series progressed she was given less and less to do. Three of the leads remain. I miss Jill as well, and I am sad that she isn’t around, but the storylines are still entertaining, and it’s been cool seeing the writers utilize Boris and Paige in Jill’s absence. Being mad about her being gone isn’t going to bring her back, Nancy. You must still have some curiosity about the show if you’re commenting on the reviews…which I love by the way so please don’t stop! LOL I say check out a few of the Jill-less episodes and then form your opinion. I’d really like to know what you think. You seem like an avid fan. If you still don’t like the show after viewing the Jill-less episodes then we’ll talk. :-)
No thanks.Have no desire to check them out. No it won’t bring her back. But I will no longer continue to support a show who treats their actors like shit!
Then you should stop commenting on the show. If you want to complain about how the show treats its actors, that is your business, but it’s unfair to judge the quality of something you have not seen in a public forum.
Sorry but it’s my right to post here. It’s a free site. I will post here if I choose. It’s called free speech. Maybe you have heard of it? Stop telling me what to do. You tell me I have a right to complain but then proceed to tell me not to? Who the hell died and made you boss of this board?!
Just because I have not seen the show does not mean I can’t complain about what the writers have done!
