Diary of a Veronica Mars virgin – Answers, answers, answers
(Season 1, Episodes 21-22)
Well, I’ve finished season one of Veronica Mars. It seems like the popular opinion is that season one was the best, which has me a little nervous moving in to season two. I enjoyed season one, but didn’t fall over myself in love with the show. It’s a fun romp, but I didn’t think it was anything more than that. The season long mystery was great, but some episodes were subpar.
Just a little warning: I’m going to get a bit nitpicky after the jump.
Diary of a Veronica Mars virgin – New couples, more clues
(Season 1, Episodes 17-20)
I’m a little surprised that I’ve gotten this far into the season without bringing up a very important point. How terrible is Veronica’s flashback wig? I can’t help laughing whenever the show flashes back and poor Kristen Bell is wearing that limp mop head of fake blonde hair. I understand that the show probably had a pretty small budget, but that thing is really the best they could come up with?
Anyways, onto the more important things, like Veronica and Logan suddenly becoming a couple. Yowza. Frankly, I’ve been enjoying Keith and Alicia Fennel much more than Veronica and Logan.
Diary of a Veronica Mars virgin – Veronica faces off with her dad, and hunts down her mom
(Season 1, Episodes 13-16)
Yes, last week I (facetiously) said that I was looking for more issues that I could relate to directly, such as a student sleeping with a teacher (which happened at my high school in my senior year). Little did I know that one of the next episodes was going to feature that exact story. Like with all of the Veronica Mars stories, there was a twist… but it was still a teacher sleeping with a student.
I’m making my way through season one pretty quickly, with only a handful of episodes left. I still don’t have a good answer for the season mystery, but I maintain that there is something fishy with Celeste Kane.
Diary of a Veronica Mars virgin – Still not hooked
(Season 1, Episodes 5-8)
Eight episodes in and I’m still not addicted to Veronica Mars. I’m enjoying it as a fun escapist romp, but I’m not seeing the transcendent show that so many others saw. I suspect that the season-long mysteries that are slowly playing out are going to seal the deal. I have to say that that aspect of the show is the most interesting to me at this point. However, it seems like the big mystery is only dealt with for a few minutes each episode.
Luckily most of the case-of-the-week cases are holding my interest, though a bit have left me a little bored, to be quite honest. Luckily, the characters really are endearing and they are keeping me watching.
Diary of a Veronica Mars virgin – murder mysteries, biker gangs, and… Paris Hilton?!?
(Season 1, Episodes 1-4)
I know that Veronica Mars has a very passionate cult following. With that in mind, I am taking my duty as a VM virgin very seriously. After four episodes, though, I have to admit that I’m not sold yet. I’ve been informed that I need to keep with it, and I plan to. The show is definitely enjoyable, I’m just not seeing the magic yet. Four episodes is only a taste, though, so I’m hoping that I end up digging this show as much as the rest of you.
As of now, however, I feel like I’m watching 90210, PI.
