Mondays seem to be chock full of great repeats over the summer — who knew? It’s definitely a better lineup than most new episodes being aired tonight.

At 8 PM you can catch season two’s “The Cushion Saturation” episode of The Big Bang Theory on CBS, the second episode of Gossip Girl’s second season on The CW, or the House episode with House’s nasty practical joke, on FOX.

At 8:30 PM you can catch the episode of How I Met Your Mother where we learn about The Cheerleader Effect, over on CBS.

At 9 PM you can catch Army Wives‘ third season premiere episode on Lifetime, the Bones episode where Bones makes out with Booth’s brother on FOX, the second episode of season six of One Tree Hill on The CW or an episode of Two and a Half Men on CBS.

At 9:30 PM, if you haven’t had enough of The Big Bang Theory, you can catch another repeat of the show on CBS, the one where Summer Glau made an appearance.

Finally, at 10 PM, CBS has a repeat of CSI: Miami, and Lifetime is airing the pilot episode of Desperate Housewives.

TerminatorHonestly, I’ve been preparing myself for a while for this inevitability, so I’m really not that broken up about Terminator’s official cancellation. Yes, I will miss the show; it was one that I considered to be smart, interesting, and well-acted. Unfortunately, as the ratings showed, not enough people agreed with me. Certainly, the unexpected renewal of Dollhouse helped to ease the sting, but I wonder why Dollhouse got a reprieve and Terminator didn’t. Add in the fact that Terminator Salvation is opening this summer and it seems like FOX could have taken a chance that the movie might have sparked interest in the show.

Man … last week was just a bloodbath in the ratings. With the exception of Thursday night, it was bad news for all of the shows at the top of my list for every night. Kings on Sunday, Chuck and Heroes on Monday, Reaper on Tuesday, Better Off Ted and Lost on Wednesday, and Dollhouse on Friday. Not a lot of good to report for any of them. On a brighter note, there was good news for the returning Fringe, and the debuts of Parks & Recreation, Southland, and Harper’s Island. Read the rest of this entry »

Terminator: The Sarah Connor ChroniclesWho know if this episode really was just the season finale or the series finale? I suppose some suit up at FOX knows, but for the rest of us, I urge you to have some optimism. It isn’t likely that Terminator will be back next year, but I’m holding out hope until it’s officially canceled. I may be deluding myself, but I’ve decided that I’m okay with that.

Let’s get to the matter at hand, however. Before we mourn for the show (even though it hasn’t been canceled yet), we have to talk about this episode, which was the culmination of the whole season, as most season finales tend to be….

… finally. Much of last week could be described as more of the same for the folks over at NBC. But this particular Thursday was different. Not only because of ER taking over the entire night. It also brought a clear win for the night to the network, calling to mind the Must See TV of years gone by. The unfortunate bit of that is that it’s not repeatable. But it was fun for the night. In other numbers news for the week, nobody cares about In The Motherhood or Samantha Who?, Cupid premiered to somewhat iffy numbers, and both Lie To Me and CSI had numbers that should make their networks say, “Hmmmmm.” Read the rest of this entry »

Terminator: The Sarah Connor ChroniclesHoly crap! Holy crap on a cracker! I’ve been spoiler free for a while now, and boy am I glad I have been. This episode had quite a shock in it (and I’ll go into the details after the jump), and I certainly didn’t see it coming.

Terminator is definitely starting to heat up, which is appropriate, as the season finale (and, yes, I’m calling it the season finale) is next week. Say what you will about FOX, but at least they give the viewers some hope that their poorly rated shows will get renewed, unlike ABC which just cancels everything mid season. I guess it’s a mixed blessing, seeing as how those ABC shows can get real endings (if ABC ever decides to show them, *cough* Eli Stone, Dirty Sexy Money *cough*).

(3/22 – 3/38)

It was another screwy week of ratings. The combination of the Obama address and the NCAA tournament made for all kinds of scheduling nuttery. That doesn’t meant there weren’t some interesting numbers to look at. The ongoing dramas of the Heroes and Dollhouse ratings continued. Chopping Block managed to post a number so low that even NBC was forced to cancel it immediately. And the trio of Dancing With The Stars, Biggest Loser, and Idol continued to prove why reality TV isn’t going anywhere. Read the rest of this entry »
