Who killed Dirty Sexy Money’s Dutch George?
Surely not a spoiler, since we learned the news of Nick’s dad’s passing in season one, episode one of Dirty Sexy Money. As this once great, now mediocre show nears its end, we are left with the question, “Who killed Dutch?”
It’s been rumored that we’ll get some closure with this question, if they air the last four episodes, that is. Alas, it is only one mystery that will be solved as Dirty Sexy Money’s season has been cut short by “no episodes reordered.” So we’ll never get to know why Nick turned into a bitch for the Darlings, why Letitia turned from a caring matriarch to a lackadaisical drunk, what happened to Brian’s other wife and children, why Juliet seems to have taken up residence on the island on Lost, why Simon Elder went from fascinating philanthropist to two-dimensional Bond villain … oh, so many unanswered questions.
Back to Dutch …
A Visit from Kevin Reilly (The Night Before Upfronts) – the whole shebang

‘Twas the night before upfronts, and to the set of House
Came an unexpected visit, by the one Peter Krause
“You think you’re so safe!” warned the unemployed actor
“At FOX no one’s safe, when Kevin Reilly’s a factor!”
The cast and the crew were confused by the warning
Until now they’d felt sure they’d be renewed the next morning
“But why, you are asking, should you listen to me?
“Since Dirty Sexy Money wasn’t on FOX, but ABC?”
Ratings Clack – It’s all about CBS

(12/14 – 12/21)
This week, the other networks just made it easy for CBS. After taking second on Sunday night, to NBC’s Sunday Night Football, the Tiffany network went on to win the next five nights in viewers and the demo. Granted, there were more repeats than usual, but even the CBS repeats were in on the game, as replays of CSI and Eleventh Hour more than doubled the viewers of their repeat competition. For the rest of the networks, the news was not quite as bright. Read the rest of this entry »
A Visit from Kevin Reilly (The Night Before Upfronts)

Overheard on a Fox television show set …
“OK everyone, it’s time to call it a wrap for the day and head home to sleep. Now, now, I’ll have none of that complaining! You know if you’re not well rested and performing your best tomorrow, Mr. Reilly won’t leave you something good in your mail slot come morning. Yes, yes, I know the upfronts are in May, but you can never be too careful.
“Oh, come, now … I’ll read you a bit of an age-old poem to help you slip off to sweet dreams. But not too much! We’ll read more each day until Christmas. Now, gather around as I tell you the story of ‘A Visit from Kevin Reilly’ ….”
Ratings Clack – CSI scores big. Biggest Loser NBC’s best hope?

(12/7 – 12/13)
I work with a guy that has the barest of the bare bones cable packages. Thirteen channels. It amounts to the networks, Discovery, PBS, and shopping. It was a tough week of television for him. There were a lot of repeats. The CW only managed 3½ hours of original programming for the week, for example. Add in a host of Christmas specials and the pickings were a little thin. Taking advantage of all of that, CBS had great numbers for the introduction of Laurence Fishburne on CSI. Some of the other shows that did manage to air originals were not so lucky.
Open Letters: A message for the writers of Dirty Sexy Money
Dear writers of Dirty Sexy Money,
I wanted to take a minute before your show disappears to thank you. First, I would like to thank you for a great first season. It must have sucked for you guys to have to go on strike and cut your very promising first season short. I know if I were in your place I would have been very frustrated. I was a big fan of your series during the first season. Dirty Sexy Money was fresh, had a great cast, and was just over-the-top enough to be a lot of fun. Who doesn’t love an angry, bitter, lying, cheating member of the clergy? It was good TV.
