South Park – The last supper at Whistlin’ Willy’s Pizza Gulch

I can’t understand why, out of everything that was hilarious and brilliant in this episode, Parker and Stone decided to name it “Margaritaville.” Stan’s journey all the way up to the U.S. Treasury took up a bit of the episode, but it wasn’t until the ending payoff that was worth the wait. But I will say that margaritas, when done right and without crappy bar mix, are damned tasty.
I’m surprised the theme of Kyle as Jesus hasn’t been used before on this show, especially with how often Cartman disses him constantly for being Jewish. We’ve seen the “actual” Jesus before, but mapping Kyle to Jesus, the economy to God and Cartman to Judas was sheer brilliance. And look at that “last supper” moment pictured above? Come on, that’s perfect!
Ten best movies adapted from TV series
Last week I did a little dumpster diving on the Hollywood backlot and pulled out a collection of vomit-inducing big screen adaptations that failed miserably to live up to the TV series that inspired them. The putrid stench of their incompetence still clings to the walls at FOX, Warner Bros., and Universal. No amount of Lysol can combat these odious bombs.
Out with the bad; in with the good. Once in a great while, Tinseltown gets it right. The small screen to big screen transition — when placed in the hands of skilled practitioners — can be quite smooth. The following list of successes is the exact reason why TV series are such popular fodder for movie producers. Without further adieu, let’s frolic in a jasmine-scented meadow and drink from the cool refreshing waters of a babbling brook. It’s time to inhale some cinema goodness.
South Park – Goths vs. douchebag vampire wannabe boners, per se

(Season 12, Episode 14 – “The Ungroundable” – Season Finale)
I think the movie Twilight opens this coming weekend, and I caught wind that this episode was going to be a parody of it. I’m a bug ol’ Buffy fan, but I never looked at the Twilight books, nor do I know anything about them. So, I have no idea how well this episode parodied Twilight other than it had a vampire theme. Maybe someone reading this can enlighten us.
The thing that definitely worked was the gray area of kids going with the goth look versus trying to look like vampires. Goth kids have been around since I was in high school, but back then they were just called geeks. Yeah, they lumped us all into one big category. Hey! Sorta like goths and vamps!
South Park: About Last Night…

Comedy Central
(Season 12, Episode 12)
This episode called for an OMG/WTF moment because of the incredibly short amount of time Parker, Stone and the others had to put it all together in time to air tonight … or were they in on something much earlier than anyone could have imagined?
Obviously the bulk of the episode had to be shot ahead of time and work with either party having won the presidency last night. If you go back and watch the episode again, you can see that a few of the scenes with Obama and McCain in the heist club could have worked with either outcome. Just change up some of the dialogue and it all works out with the animation.
