Lost in Lost – Whose canoes?

Bob Degon on February 9th, 2009 3:05 PM

LostRevelations were hard to come by this week in Lost land. This week’s episode, “The Little Prince,” was mostly character driven. I usually defend such episodes, but this week rubbed me the wrong way for some reason.

There were some interesting tidbits that we can dig into, though. The one mystery that really caught my imagination this week was the canoes that the castaways found in their camp, with Ajira Airways water bottle in them. If you weren’t aware, Ajira Airways actually has its own website. If you feel like digging around, there are some Lost Easter eggs there, or you can just visit Dark UFO and check them out without any effort.

LostWell, this episode seemed… how can I put this kindly? It seemed very… transitional. There was a lot of setup tonight. A lot of setup and a lot of relationship stuff. I know that a lot of people are invested in the Jack/Kate/Sawyer/Juliet/Vincent triangle/square/polygon, whatever the heck you want to call it, but frankly, it doesn’t really do anything for me. In all honesty Jack, Kate, and Sawyer are all incredibly flawed people and I don’t think any of them are a good fit for each other, not even Jack and Sawyer.

With every passing week, Lost creeps closer and closer to my TV (and yours). All the signs are there; If you missed it, an official promo was released. You can check it out over on ABC’s site. If you haven’t seen it yet, give it a look. There’s not much in it, but it certainly gets the saliva going for a big juicy slice of Lost. Mmmm… Lost… We shouldn’t get too carried away, though; we still don’t even know what timeslot the show will be in when it comes back in the nebulous “early 2009.”

The spoilers are beginning to trickle in, too, though, and Dark UFO is reporting the titles of the first six episodes of the new season. Is there anything that we can learn from these titles? Any little nuggets of coveted information? Probably not, but that doesn’t mean we can’t dig in and see what we can find. Beware, if you consider episode titles spoilery, stay away!
