Tonight on the tube: Dancing With the Stars finale begins
8:00p/7:00 Central
- Poor Chuck can’t catch a break on NBC. His true love comes back to life and actually likes him, so of course she has to be an enemy spy. What to do, what to do.
- Sheldon is thrilled that Leonard is dating a woman who meets his standards on CBS’s The Big Bang Theory. Then, on How I Met Your Mother, Ted finds Robin’s date naked on the couch.
- On ABC’s Dancing With the Stars, the final three couples perform, but that’s not all. All ten stars return, along with Miley Cyrus and Alicia Keys.
- On TLC, the Roloffs finally finish their latest remodel and head for Orlando on Little People, Big World. On FOX’s Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, Sarah may have found a lead to Andy Goode’s Turk.
- It’s Monday Night Football on ESPN with the Green Bay Packers (5-5) at the New Orleans Saints (5-5).
Tonight on the tube: 150 bad jokes over dead bodies on CSI: Miami
8:00p/7:00 Central
- More and more people are apparently gravitating to the CBS comedy lineup as its the only network seeing gains here. The Big Bang Theory kicks things off with Leonard accidentally drawing the attention of a “future Mrs. Wolowitz.” Then, Ted pitches a building design to Barney’s company on How I Met Your Mother.
- It’s not leaving very many viewers left for NBC, where Chuck finds himself in a romantic triangle, of sorts, when Jill gets jealous of his fake relationship with Sarah. Even worse off is FOX’s Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles. Tonight, Jesse comes back into the fold to track down a possible Skynet conspirator with Derek.
- On two episodes of TLC’s Little People, Big World, the boys have to deal with a losing streak in soccer, while Matt ponders moving his business office into the home. Over on The CW’s Gossip Girl, Thanksgiving comes to the Waldorf household.
- The stars are at it again on ABC’s Dancing With the Stars. Tune in and watch how fat all the female professional dancers are getting. I think some of them might be nearing triple digits!
- Or, at the half hour, flip over to ESPN and see if they can get through Monday Night Football with less than two hundred mistakes. It’s Browns (3-6) v. Bills (5-4) tonight.
Tonight on the tube: An award-winning film on Sci Fi!?

HBO
5:00p/4:00 Central
- At 5:30p/4:30 Central The CW kicks off its new Sunday night lineup with a new 4Real, featuring Eva Mendes visiting Vancouver to take a look at its problems with homelessness and addiction.
7:00p/6:00 Central
- 60 Minutes on CBS takes a look at what may be the world’s oldest family business, the battle of Sadr City, and the man who infiltrated the Gambino family reveals his identity for the first time.
- The CW’s In Harm’s Way examines those people who risk their lives to capture live animals. I think they mean more than chihuahuas, though those little bitches can be mean!
- The NFL on NBC kicks off with Football Night in America, while ABC brings you videos of guys getting their arms caught in power windows and getting pooped on by birds.
- But oh my God, that’s not nearly as dramatic as the first season finale of My Super Sweet 16: Exiled on MTV. I mean, those girls really know what suffering and danger is. Sometimes … sometimes they don’t get the exact model sports car they wanted. You know how (*gasp*) hard that is!
Tonight on the tube: Baseball, football and so many shows!

NBC
4:00p/3:00 Central
- ALDS Game 4 means that the White Sox aren’t done yet, but Tampa Bay hopes to finish them today.
8:00p/7:00 Central
- It would appear that CBS finally understands the concept of good comedy and they start their night off strong with The Big Bang Theory. In this geeky sitcom, the bizarre friendship between Sheldon and Penny goes to the next level as he introduces her to the world of online gaming. Then, Ted learns that Stella thinks he’s going to move to the ‘burbs after they wed on How I Met Your Mother.
- Dancing With the Stars goes into Week 3 of the competition, while at 7:30/8:30 Central the Angels keep fighting for their lives against Boston in their own ALDS Game 4.
- Also at the half hour is ESPN’s Monday Night Football with the Vikings taking on the Saints.
- Something miraculous needs to happen for FOX’s Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles to avoid cancellation at this point. Maybe Ellison’s first assignment for Shirley Manson’s Weaver will do it.
- MyNetwork TV’s Celebrity Expose returns for a second season, first off by looking at the relationship between stars and the paparazzi.
- John Larroquette is suddenly everywhere, and tonight he’s on NBC’s Chuck as a legendary spy. The CW offers up a repeat of the second season premiere of Gossip Girl.
Tonight on the tube: Chuck, Life and 100 Great Hip-Hop Songs

NBC
8:00p/7:00 Central
- Based on Chuck’s great ratings this year, NBC has … wait, isn’t this the sophomore premiere? How the hell did Chuck already get a full season pick-up? I bet Do Not Disturb is so pissed. “If only we could have secured a full season before anyone saw what shit we were!”
- Sara Gilbert joins the cast of CBS’s The Big Bang Theory, reprising her Leslie Winkle role, as Penny and Leonard compete to move on first from their short relationship. Then, on How I Met Your Mother, Regis Philbin needs some more air time, so he joins Marshall on a quest for “The Best Burger in New York.”
- We finally get to learn more about Cameron’s past on FOX’s Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles. That means Summer Glau showing a little more range than her role generally allows. Unfortunately, it may be too late as the ratings on this aren’t as pretty as she is!
- Fashion and design invade The CW’s Gossip Girl this week, while on ABC, Dancing with the Stars, settles down to one elimination and two episodes per week.
- Or tune into the continuously horrible coverage by ESPN as the Ravens tackle the Steelers on Monday Night Football at 8:30p/7:30 Central.
Tonight on the tube: Premiere week kicks off!
The new fall season kicks it into high gear tonight with no less than nine series or season premieres. With so many good shows on at the same time on Monday nights, I’m ready for the proposed staggered schedule to begin. Thank god for DVRs and online streaming. With the return of CBS’s comedy Monday as well as the much anticipated third season launch of Heroes, you’ve already got a big night of television. But that’s not all!
Heroes is hoping to rebound from a lackluster and strike shortened sophomore slump. This third volume, entitled “Villains” looks to up the stakes and possibly bring powers to previously unpowered fan-favorites (HRG? Suresh?). It’s a bit much to have a pre-premiere red carpet show for a drama show, but I guess NBC doesn’t really have any other major buzz shows to hang their hats on anymore, do they? And if Heroes doesn’t reconnect this year, the network could be in big trouble. Check out the full listings after the jump.
