After last week’s treasure trove of new releases, the pickings are a wee bit slimmer this time around. That’s not to say there isn’t some fun to be had. Any week that features Mystery Science Theater 3000, Doctor Who, the machinery of the moon missions, and Poirot can’t be all bad. Those are joined by some classic TV, in the form of Matlock, Murder She Wrote, Peanuts, and Petticoat Junction. Those of you looking to stay more current can watch out for Kath and Kim, Reno 911!, and Ruby. All things considered, still a solid week of releases, with Moon Machines making my short list. Even if the new TV season has started about a month ago (although most series returned last week), I find myself watching loads of reruns. Thanks to satellite TV and the likes, TV viewers have many choices of shows to catch in reruns at all times of day. If you like all three versions of CSI, you could even probably find a way to watch it 24/7!

I occasionally watch reruns of shows that are currently on the air and that I didn’t have time to watch when they first aired: the CSIs, the Law & Orders, Eureka, Pysch, Monk, etc. When I’m really bored and find nothing to watch on the 100+ channels I have at home, I’ll watch reruns of The Simpsons, Futurama, Seinfeld, Friends and other sitcoms. However, I find myself making weekly, if not daily, appointments with canceled TV series I didn’t watch at all or in their entirety during their run.
