Sophie and Pork Rinds

I know I’ve professed my love for Leverage in the past (and by the past, I meant, you know, this weekend), but I really was taken aback by the way they portrayed Lincoln, NE. The quotes were funny, yes, but having lived in Omaha, its not that backwards. Oh, and for the record, I LOVE chicken fried steak, especially because it’s more of a Southern thing, and I can’t stand pork rinds. Also, this week Brett took a look at the “missing” episode of Dollhouse, and we, of course, dove into the Virgin Diaries.

Keith and Veronica

I do have to admit. I’m a bit jealous Bob. I’ve been a Veronica Mars fan for day one, so its definitely one of those shows that I wish I could go back and watch fresh. One of the best parts of putting together this post is getting to cull through quotes from the Virgin Diary reviews, and Veronica Mars is always one of the best reads.

Better Off Ted

“A machine that causes vomiting… that could have all kinds of applications for the military… and fashion modeling.”  – Ted

The Colbert Report

“I also express anger through cheering and applause. It’s like my left hand is Al Franken and my right hand keeps slapping him.” – Stephen Colbert

(Season One, Episodes 5 & 6)

Admittedly, I’ve been a bit harsh regarding this show. Maybe comparing it to that other vampire detective show, set in LA, with a brooding solitary lead, who has a psycho possibly (not) dead ex-girlfriend/vampire is unfair. For that, I apologize. I have tried to watch this week’s installments with a different eye. I will warn that I’m still not feeling the whole Beth and Mick thing. Them as a potential couple just doesn’t work, and things that occurred here didn’t really go too far to change that opinion.

Here is the latest edition of the week in quotes. Fortunately for us all, we had some new TV this week to pull from. I also, for better or for worse, went a little crazy with the Virgin Diaries (Damn yous, wikiquote.org). Most of the quotes I pulled from the old episodes this week were quirky and funny, so I hope you enjoy!

Burn Notice

“Loving Michael is like trench warfare.” – Maddie

“Human instincts can jeopardize a mission. Sometimes its better to let a guy bleed a while.” – Mike’s narration
