Quotations Marks – Keith and Veronica Mars banter like rock stars

I do have to admit. I’m a bit jealous Bob. I’ve been a Veronica Mars fan for day one, so its definitely one of those shows that I wish I could go back and watch fresh. One of the best parts of putting together this post is getting to cull through quotes from the Virgin Diary reviews, and Veronica Mars is always one of the best reads.

Who will be a messiah first: Starbuck or Locke?
Two of my favorite shows on television right now are Lost and Battlestar Galactica. I won’t go into all the reasons I love them, but suffice it to say: they’re the awesomest!
One thing that I have noticed lately is that both of the shows appear to be setting things up to make one of their long time characters into a messiah of sorts. Both Starbuck and John Locke appear more and more like a messiah in the making. By all appearances, they both have complicated and important “destinies,” and both have seemingly died.
Let’s take a closer look.
CliqueClack Presidential Election: We have a winner!
The most important election in the country has been decided! That’s right, we have chosen a fictional president here at Clique Clack. Thanks to everyone who voted in our poll.
It was a close election, with Jed Bartlet eking out a narrow victory over Laura Roslin. She was my candidate, and I’m taking this pretty hard. I’ll get over it though. I won’t even call for a recount in Florida. Those hanging chads can be a pain, but I don’t think they were the culprit here. I figure that John Sheridan was causing a split in the outer space vote. Roslin needed the support of all those sci fi fans, and Sheridan was taking away from her target demographic. Hopefully she can kick that breast cancer and run again in four years. We’ll just have to wait and see.
With Jed Bartlet we have an experienced leader. Heck, he’s already been President of the United States for two terms. Let’s hope he can use that fancy PhD in economics to lead our country out of this financial crisis.
So, what do you think of our fictional pick for president? Is Bartlet the right man to lead our nation into the future? Were you hoping that the head of Richard Nixon would get elected?
CliqueClack Presidential Election: Vote today!
Hey everyone, happy election day! If you’re anything like me you’re excited and thankful that election day has finally come. Just think of it: in a few short hours we won’t have to see any more political advertisements on the TV! Well, not for a couple years anyway. I’ll take it. I need any break I can get, and I don’t even live in a swing state. I feel bad for all you folks in the hard fought “battleground” states. I can’t imagine the kind of commercials you have to deal with. You have my sympathies.
In any case, I hope everyone who can goes out and votes today – and not just in the presidential election. There’s an election going on right here at Clique Clack too. If you haven’t noticed, we have nominated a worthy group of TV characters that we feel would make a great president: Laura Roslin, Rupert Giles, Optimus Prime, the Head of Richard Nixon, Jed Bartlett and John Sheridan. The poll is running through the day, so make sure you vote and let your voice be heard! Check out our election post HERE.
Make sure you check back later to see who you elected. We won’t have hours of coverage or fancy electoral maps (though I’m guessing you will get you fill of that elsewhere tonight), but we will have a post announcing the winner.
CliqueClack Presidential Election – It’s Voting Time!
If you’ve been keeping up, you know that here at CliqueClack, we’ve been nominating some of our favorite TV characters for president. With that silly actual election a week away, we figured it was time to start the voting for CliqueClack president. Be sure to vote. You have a civic duty here. Plus, there are no pesky age minimums or citizenship requirements to vote in this election.
The poll will be open for one week, until election day on November 4th. Let’s quickly review all of the nominees (and you can click on their names for more details)….
CliqueClack Presidential Nominations: I wish Laura Roslin were running for president

Sci Fi
The days pass and we get closer and closer to that very important day – November 4, election day. As we are bombarded with news, campaign ads and debates, I get more and more jaded.
Here at CliqueClack, we’ve decided to endorse a candidate. Don’t get nervous, we won’t be picking an actual politician. Instead, we’re going to be presenting some of the characters from TV that we think would make the best commander-in-chief and you’ll have a chance to vote on your favorite.
I’ve mentioned that I’m currently watching all of Battlestar Galactica on DVD. The more episodes that I watch, the more I realize one thing: I wish Laura Roslin were running for president.
She may have started as the education secretary, but this lady has everything it takes to be commander-in-chief: leadership, compassion, and smarts. She may be a bit of a religious radical, but she doesn’t let it get in her way. Let’s take a closer look….
