This week’s Grey’s Anatomy went down pretty much as I expected it would. It just seemed so sweet and fitting that Izzie and Alex would get married rather than Derek and Meredith. And so bittersweet, considering that Izzie likely would have married Denny had he not died before they had the chance. Now she’s in that same situation, only she’s the one in the hospital bed.

But are you sad that Derek and Meredith didn’t get married? I can’t say that I am. This big affair really wasn’t their kind of wedding. I picture them getting married in an operating room or something.

(Season 5, Episode 10 – “All By Myself”)

I really loved this episode of Grey’s Anatomy. For one thing, it became clear that Izzie is either 1) seeing the ghost of Denny (because no one else can see him, but they can see her talking to an invisible being); or 2) she’s dreaming it up, because in reality she loves Alex and can’t bring herself to admit that because she’s afraid of losing him, just like she did Denny.

That second theory isn’t mine. It’s Alex’s, and I think he’s on to something. But what a guy. He says he’ll be there for her no matter what. And “if you wanna be scared, that’s ok, just be scared with me.” What girl could turn down an offer like that? I practically breathed a sigh of relief when she showed up to assist on his solo surgery.
