Glee class ring

Earlier this afternoon, the cast of Glee made its first of about ten stops on its “Gleek Tour” at the Natick Mall in Massachusetts. We got to interview most of the cast in attendance and will have something on that later tonight, but what I did want to share with you was this little gem. See that picture above? Each member of the cast got that as a gift when the season (well, at least the 13 ordered episodes) wrapped in July. It’s a class ring with a ‘g’ in the Glee font, all shiny and, — I’ve gotta say — very cool looking. That’s Cory Monteith holding out his above.

What I’m wondering is how long it’s going to take before these are mass produced or at least someone figures out how to make one for themselves. Any takers? Two days? Two weeks?

Anyway, the cast of Glee, the other media and the people with FOX were very cordial and cool. Check for pictures and some snippets from what we learned later on tonight. Meanwhile, there’s another shot of the ring below.

BSG last supper

Much to the happiness of BSG geeks like me, Ron D. Moore has been doing timely podcasts for the remaining episodes of the season, or at least he has for the past two. It’s always interesting to hear what the man has to say on what he was thinking with certain scenes, and the other directions he’d previously considered that got dropped.

Listening to the podcasts is a bit time consuming and calls for free time you might not have, so I’ll do my best to point out some of the highlights for me. Note these are from the first two podcasts, meshed together:

Sebastian’s back Guest-clacking for us again….

If you follow my guest-clacks here over the last month, you’ve most likely already discovered that I’m a sucker for all things “real.” I love shows that feel right, things that fit, stories that could happen. I like to laugh because it makes me feel warm and cuddly inside. I like to feel for the people on screen. I love stories that could happen.

The reason why Craig Ferguson is the best talk show host there is is simple. He’s real. He’s so unlike all the other guys with a desk and a chair and a sofa.

For starters, his show doesn’t have the regular opening monologue. When he started to do his show back in January 2005, they tried to make him read cue cards, let him make jokes his writers came up with and try to be funny. Which failed miserably. Every now and then, he has guests return that he had on his show in that abysmal first week — and they remember with him how bad that was.

The LibrarianYesterday Deb had a little one-on-one interview with Dean Devlin, producer of TNT’s new hit, Leverage, as well as the trilogy of The Librarian TV movies (the third one aired early last month). She’ll have that interview up sometime later (small preview: Christian Kane’s hair is discussed in length — pun intended). One question that came up was about where The Librarian series is headed; given its success, will it ever transcend to the big screen?

“We’re in the process right now of writing the script,” Devlin told Deb in the interview. “Were hoping some time later this year to start shooting the first Librarian feature movie.” Maybe Noah Wyle didn’t make such a bad move after all.

BSG sneak peek

Hey there, Frakkers. This week SciFi Wire has a sneak peek video of what looks like the opening scene of the first of the ten remaining episodes of Battlestar Galactica. It’s wonderfully shot and doesn’t really reveal anything other than Earth being scanned by both the humans and Cylons, neither finding signs of life.

Of course, the latest of the webisodes is “officially” online over on SciFi.com today as well. I don’t think there’s much surprise in who’s revealed as the killer, but the further information we get regarding the mysterious list is definitely interesting.

Earlier today, Ronald D. Moore and David Eick had a conference call with a bunch of us media folks, and they discussed Battlestar Galactica (duh) as well as some other projects they’re working on or have planned.

Wil Wheaton – CliqueClack Interview

Wil Wheaton

Wil Wheaton

You might remember Wil Wheaton from his role as Wesley Crusher on Star Trek: The Next Generation, which ran from 1987 to 1994. But the actor’s been plenty busy since then, with movie roles in Neverland and Star Trek: Nemesis; voice parts in Ben 10: Alien Force, Legion of Super Heroes, and Teen Titans; and roles in Numb3rs and CSI, to name a few.

In tonight’s episode of Criminal Minds (9 pm ET on CBS), Wheaton plays a (really) bad guy named Floyd Hansen. “He’s the single most sadistic, brutal, purely evil character I’ve ever played,” he said.

Wheaton notes that most of his scenes were with Robin Lively and William Mapother, best known as Ethan Rom on Lost. The only series regular he interacted with was Thomas Gibson, though he spent time on the set with others in the cast — and had a great time.

Feeling confused about this season of Heroes? You’re not alone. Although last week’s episode offered a few answers, I’m still trying to piece things together, as are a lot of my friends.

Maybe David H. Lawrence XVII can help us figure it out. After spending 35 years in the radio industry, including hosting a syndicated show on XM, Sirius and WGN in Chicago, the actor took the role of Eric Doyle, the villainous new character who shared a creepy pasta dinner with Meredith last week.

I recently talked with Lawrence, who says maybe we’re over-thinking things. “I thinks it’s best if you just take the show one episode at a time, and just let them wash over you like you did in the beginning. With the first episode, you didn’t know everybody’s backstory. You didn’t know everybody’s power and the ability to take away powers and all that. Just let the story unfold rather than try and figure out what’s going on.”
