(Season Two, Episode Five)

It’s all about the relationships tonight. From the inappropriate (yet irresistible) to the epic to the downright cute, we saw a variety of couples on display tonight. Most of the pairings are working pretty well. It’s nice to see some people that you never thought would form any romantic relationships on the show making things work.

Keith and Veronica

I do have to admit. I’m a bit jealous Bob. I’ve been a Veronica Mars fan for day one, so its definitely one of those shows that I wish I could go back and watch fresh. One of the best parts of putting together this post is getting to cull through quotes from the Virgin Diary reviews, and Veronica Mars is always one of the best reads.

“Scratches” (Season 2, Episode 3)

I spent most of last week talking about how boring I find Bill, and how much I love Lafayette. I think what it goes to show is that as much as I like this show, it’s less for the main relationship as it is for all the relationships between the secondary characters (Though I still love Anna Paquin’s Sookie Stackhouse … As Jane said over at TV Squad, “She’s got spunk.”). Producer Alan Ball has done a excellent job crafting these characters and putting them in interesting situations.

“Keep This Party Going” (Season 2, Episode 2)

True Blood has gotten off to a great start in its second season. The Eric/Lafayette storyline is very intriguing, and I’m looking forward to where it might be going. Jason Stackhouse is walking down a path that threatens to open a divide between those he loves and what he believes. Maryann and Sam have a history whose surface we’re just beginning to scratch.  But, Bill … Well, Bill just kind of sucks.

Sookie Tara Sam

The second season of HBO and Alan Ball’s vampire drama True Blood premiered last night, and we were immediately thrust into another murder mystery (It also allowed me to use a ridiculously bad pun as a post title, and how can you turn down that?). Several ongoing storylines were introduced setting up the rest of the second season, as well as a few hold overs from last season.  Fans of a particular character have reason to rejoice going forward. I’m excited to see where the season is going, though with one specific exception.
