I am such a big fan of Holly Hunter as Grace Hanadarko on TNT’s Saving Grace. She brings an intensity to that role that reminds me of Glenn Close’s Patty Hewes on Damages, although the characters are very different. Patty is a lesson in control, whereas Grace is the exact opposite. But both get the job done.

Grace is a tiny firecracker who parties hard and regrets nothing in her job as a cop with the Oklahoma City Police. In her words, she has “an angel on my ass, a man who hears God talkin’ to him, and a killer on Death Row who shops at the Gap. None of this makes sense.” Read more about Grace in Ivey’s preview of season three.

I’m really excited about the TV Virgin Diaries we’ve been doing here at CliqueClack TV. Not only has it been fun as hell to read what everyone thinks of shows I’ve already watched, but reading what people have to say about shows I’m also a virgin to has got me wanting to check them out. It’s like having new, good programming to look forward to all the time!

One show I’ve wanted to add to the diaries is Dead Like Me. Not only does the complete series box set come out tomorrow, but the highly anticipated direct-to DVD movie, Dead Like Me: Life After Death, is being released. It’s a great day for fans (and Dead Like Me virgins). To honor the day, we’re giving away three copies of the movie (sorry, we couldn’t get our hands on the complete series set).

We were impressed with the Black Friday deals. We swooned each week over the holiday sales. Well, we’re now wiping the drool from our chin with one hand as we frantically place our orders with the other, because the post-holiday sale at Amazon is too good to be true.

Buy one, get one free? For real? Yep, for real.

This means you can get all six seasons of The Shield for just over $100.00; that’s about $16.00 a season. After the jump, I’ll do some more math for you so you can see how much Damages, Rescue Me, Gidget and more will cost you.

We talk about, cry over and mourn for canceled TV shows all the time. Everyone’s seen at least one show they loved get its ass kicked by the cancellation boot. It’s easy to talk about which shows you love and miss because, well, you miss them! But what of shows you loved, they got canceled, but you just don’t care that they’re gone?

Here’s a list of a few shows that I once loved and are now gone, but I’m just fine with them being over:

The Sopranos — I thought I’d hit you with a big one right off the bat. I watched every episode of this show’s six seasons and, for at least the majority of the show’s run, looked forward to the night it aired. At around the time I was losing interest, we heard that season six would be the end. How could I not stick around now? So that’s what I did. And now I’m glad it’s over.

I didn’t realize — until catching the news last night — that people actually still wait in line through the wee hours of the night to get in on good “Black Friday” deals at retailers. Why go wait in line in the cold and rain when there’s the Internet? Not that it’s a fool-proof way to get to the shopping deals in time, but it’s better than camping out.

I took a look this morning at some of the deals Amazon.com has for TV shows on DVD, and there’s some pretty impressive offerings. I’ve added a list of them below. (Full disclosure: I’ve added the CliqueClack referral tracking code for these, so we definitely appreciate you using our links for your Amazon.com shopping!)

Complete Monty Python’s Flying Circus: Normally $99.95, today $53.49

HBO’s Band of Brothers on Blu-ray: Normally $99.98, today $49.99

Oh, you thought we’d stop giving away stuff after our launch giveaway (still going on, by the way)? Not so!

Can anyone seriously say that they’ve got a favorite character on South Park other than Cartman or maybe Kenny? I think the following Cartman has justifies him having his own DVD set, don’t you? I mean, who’d buy a “Fans of Stan” DVD or a “Pile for Kyle” DVD (sorry, it’s late and that’s the best rhyming I could do)? Nobody, that’s who!

So, in honor of South Park: The Cult of Cartman – Revelations‘ release today, we’re giving away a copy of this set to two random commenters to this post. The comment has to be legitimate, spam-free and mention why you’d like to own this set. We’ll close comments here on Friday, October 10, and we’ll later email two winners — so you’d better comment with a legit email address!

The contest is open to only U.S. addresses. Like Canada likes South Park anyway.
