CliqueClack’s top posts of 2008

Debbie McDuffee on December 31st, 2008 4:00 PM

dr-horrible-singalong-blogIt wouldn’t be the last day of the year if we didn’t somehow mark the top something, now would it? Sure, we could write a bunch of posts highlighting subjective lists about the best on TV this year, but that sure wouldn’t be original. We wanted to do something a bit different here.

So why not throw ourselves a little love? I mean really, it’s our site, after all.

We thought it would be fun to revisit the top traffic-getting posts for CliqueClack this year. It’s a fun mix, too: from Halloween to other things Supernatural and Horrible; David Cook to David Lawrence, there’s a little bit of everything reflected in our hot traffic-getters for the year. So here are the top ten CliqueClack posts for 2008:

Heroes – Elle and Sylar suck face

(Season 3, Episode 11 – “The Eclipse, Part 1″)

Well, yet another Heroes episode with characters moving to and fro, here and there, everywhere from a corn field in Kansas to a tropical jungle.

My thoughts:

When Claire said, “Why is it always me?” to Angela, on her being the catalyst, I sort of had that same thought. Let someone else grab some of the spotlight, cheerleader.

When Sylar said, “I hate heroes” to Elle, after she tells the car rental guy he’s a serial killer who’s holding her hostage … yeah, I sort of had the same thought. Hopefully that’ll change over the next few episodes, though.

Maybe David H. Lawrence XVII is right, and we should just take the episodes one at a time and let them wash over us. But it’s human nature to want to make sense of things. Life is messy and unpredictable, and maybe we’re looking for clarity in our TV shows. Here’s me looking for clarity:

Feeling confused about this season of Heroes? You’re not alone. Although last week’s episode offered a few answers, I’m still trying to piece things together, as are a lot of my friends.

Maybe David H. Lawrence XVII can help us figure it out. After spending 35 years in the radio industry, including hosting a syndicated show on XM, Sirius and WGN in Chicago, the actor took the role of Eric Doyle, the villainous new character who shared a creepy pasta dinner with Meredith last week.

I recently talked with Lawrence, who says maybe we’re over-thinking things. “I thinks it’s best if you just take the show one episode at a time, and just let them wash over you like you did in the beginning. With the first episode, you didn’t know everybody’s backstory. You didn’t know everybody’s power and the ability to take away powers and all that. Just let the story unfold rather than try and figure out what’s going on.”
