Tonight on the tube: The series finale of Boston Legal

So we’ve been doing these ‘Tonight on the Tube’ articles for awhile. Occasionally we even get a comment from you guys about a particular show you watch or are excited about. But all in all these go down pretty quietly. Are you liking them? Do you find them helpful? Too wordy? Not informative enough? This is your blog and we want this particular feature to benefit you as much as possible.
As such, we’re going to start experimenting with how we present this information to you. Do you want to see a full listing of what’s new on television tonight, or would you rather we use this space to spotlight a few key episodes or specials? Maybe you don’t want any of that and would prefer a basic list. Or maybe you just want me to ramble on about my belly button lint for five or six hundred words. And I can totally do that. Today it was the brightest blue you ever saw. Really, I should knit a sweater with it.
Tonight on the tube: With CBS in repeats, why not give Chuck a try

7:00p/6:00 Central
- Bravo takes us First Class All the Way to Italy for the first of two episodes set there. This docu-drama is filled with the kind of stuff that makes Robin Leach cream himself, so tune in and wonder why they can’t throw a couple bones your way … or mine!
Tonight on the tube: 24, AMAs and bye to True Blood & Entourage

7:00p/6:00 Central
- Tonight, learn the true story of how a nuclear facility was almost robbed of weapons grade uranium straight from the mouth of the man who thwarted the attempt and nearly died in the effort on CBS’s 60 Minutes.
- NBC, meanwhile, preps you for tonight’s NFL match-up with Football Night in America. But most of us will be watching the 2008 American Music Awards Red Carpet Live! special on ABC, won’t we?
- FOX throws up an hour of King of the Hill repeats, first offering the recent installment where Bobby is treated like he’s “special,” following with the residents of Arlen fighting the construction of a “McMansion.”
- The CW is scrapping that whole failed Sunday night lineup plan, but tonight you can catch one last week of reruns of those shows you didn’t watch the first time around. Next week the new Sunday night is anchored around a major movie, and features repeats of the first seasons of Everybody Hates Chris, The Game, The Drew Carey Show and Jericho, surprisingly enough.
Tonight on the tube: Ralphie May, Ruby and Summer Heights High

ABC
5:00p/4:00 Central
- The farmed out CW Sunday is all repeats tonight, kicking off with two 4Real installments. However, I can’t find any details as to which episodes are airing.
6:00p/5:00 Central
- The CW repeats continue with the first of two Valentine repeats on the night. Again, I’ve no idea which one this is, or any of The CW shows tonight.
7:00p/6:00 Central
- NBC kicks off another Football Night in America, while CBS’s 60 Minutes sits down with some of President-Elect Barack Obama’s closest advisors.
- But if that gets too boring, you can always switch over to ABC at 7:30p/6:30 Central and watch a 30-minute edition of America’s Funniest Home Videos.
- The CW repeats continue with In Harm’s Way. The lack of information coupled with the reported production halts really make me wonder how much longer this Sunday lineup will remain.
- FOX starts off their night with animated repeats. First up is the King of the Hill episode where Bill got diagnosed with diabets. That’s followed by The Simpsons repeat where Homer becomes a bounty hunter.
Tonight on the tube: Brotherhood returns, Army Wives leaves

Showtime
5:00p/4:00 Central
- At 5:30p/4:30 Central, The CW’s 4Real takes Red Hot Chili Peppers wild man Flea to Haiti to meet a rural health care worker.
7:00p/6:00 Central
- Like something out of a movie, a man pretended to be a narcotics agent, tricked local law enforcement and proceeded to make a series of illegal arrests. Find out how he did and what happens next on a new 60 Minutes on CBS.
- Or start getting psyched because the NFL is back on Sunday nights this week. Kick off your Football Night in America on NBC.
- Over on The CW, check out the very real dangers of volcanologists on a new In Harm’s Way. What could possibly be dangerous about studying volcanoes?
