The Week in Clack – Battlestar, Supernatural, the last of the holidays
Week of December 20 through December 27
Clever, insolent, creative, irreverent; even a little twisted. I speak of the writers here at CliqueClack, and the unique posts they churn out day after day. How could we let seven days go by without highlighting some of the week’s gems?
The week of Christmas brought the last of our holiday posts, and they were some good ones.
- If you enjoyed our cumulative holiday poem, or if you missed it, it’s been published in its entirety. Check out A Visit from Kevin Reilly, ‘Twas the Night before Christmas style.

A Visit from Kevin Reilly (The Night Before Upfronts) – the whole shebang

‘Twas the night before upfronts, and to the set of House
Came an unexpected visit, by the one Peter Krause
“You think you’re so safe!” warned the unemployed actor
“At FOX no one’s safe, when Kevin Reilly’s a factor!”
The cast and the crew were confused by the warning
Until now they’d felt sure they’d be renewed the next morning
“But why, you are asking, should you listen to me?
“Since Dirty Sexy Money wasn’t on FOX, but ABC?”
A Visit from Kevin Reilly (The Night Before Upfronts), part 7
Hughie, and Joss, and Seacrest, oh my! Writing a poem with seven different authors makes for a bit of the crazy. If you’ve been playing along with the home game, Peter Krause tempted the various Fox casts with news of planned cancellations. Then the nimble Hugh Laurie snatched the list and made a getaway, only to be stopped short by one Ryan Seacrest. Now, with the final installment, it all comes to a head when the big boss shows up.
Focus turned to the door, where Reilly appeared
Looking rested and bright, and sporting a beard
“Hughie my boy, I’ll take it from here”
To Seacrest he offered, a menacing sneer

A Visit from Kevin Reilly (The Night Before Upfronts), part six
Today our group poem continues. When we left off, Hugh Laurie was getting ready to barge into Kevin Reilly’s office, despite Joss Whedon’s warnings, and Prison Break’s Dominic Purcell showed up to try to stop him. Did it work, or does Hugh Laurie commit career suicide by barging into the big boss’s office? Read on to find out….
“Where’s Kevin Reilly?” Hugh exclaimed with a shout.
“Don’t worry your pretty beard,” Seacrest said. “He’s just … out.”
They looked at his devilish grin and the gleam in his eye
And Dominic realized that he might not just be canceled, he might actually die.

Happy holidays from CliqueClack TV

A Visit from Kevin Reilly (The Night Before Upfronts), part five
I know, you are all starting to wonder how this tale will end, aren’t you? You don’t have much longer to wait; it’s almost Christmas and we’ve been enjoying these relaxing little read-alouds, haven’t we? Nothing like celebrating the stress of the industry folks to make our holiday stress seem insignificant ….
In case you missed the first installments of our poem:
- Part one has that rascally Peter Krause showing up with a list of canceled FOX shows, the night before the Upfronts.
- Part two tells of Terminator and Fringe cast members getting nervous.
- Part three brings up the nerves of some other FOX show members, and ends with the cast of House in a tizzy.
- Part four has mischievous Hugh Laurie stealing the list.
and visit CliqueClack on Christmas Day for the poem published in its entirety. Let the epic tale unfold …
A Visit from Kevin Reilly (The Night Before Upfronts), part four
OK, here’s the next installment of our cumulative poem. After Peter Krause shows up at the FOX studios with a list of canceled FOX shows for sale, things get ugly. The cast of Terminator and Fringe show their true colors, and Bones and House actors have their nerves in a jangle too. So our epic tale continues to unfold ….
Then just like that, Hugh snatched the note and he ran.
Down the hall he went screaming, “I have me a plan!”
Peter Krause just stood there looking awfully lame.
“Damn, I forgot he doesn’t really use the cane.”
