Saving Grace - Grace and Rhetta

“She’s a Lump” (Season 3, Episode 2)

When I previewed the third season of Saving Grace, I was working with what I thought were the first two episodes of the season. Turns out they’ve decided to run the episode “What Would You Do” later, which I think was a pretty good switch. Tonight’s episode continues the storyline of the Jane Doe that Earl (and Grace) have been watching over, whereas it doesn’t play a major role whenever we see it (Looking at the previews of next week, it won’t be then). As it was a part of the second season finale, and the premier last week, I’m grateful for the change.

(Season 3, Episode 6)

In case you’re wondering, the episode title translates roughly to “if it can be.” Well, that’s Google’s literal translation, but it really means “yes, it can be done.” Miguel has gone out of his way to prove to Dexter that this is a moto he can attach to their little relationship, and Dexter’s clearly not sure he’s ready to deal with that fully just yet.

I go on about this show being predictable, though one thing that I have totally no idea about is who this Skinner is and why he (or she!) is doing what they’re doing. Wouldn’t it be outlandish if the writers threw us for a loop, and it’s Dexter who’s doing all of this on the side, and he’s just not making us aware of it? With Harry popping up more often in Dexter’s head, I wouldn’t take crazy dual-personality off the table for him.

(Season 5, Episode 8)

After last week’s episode, I was prepared for one hell of a follow-up this week. Last week played out very much like a great finale or possibly an episode that precludes a break for a few weeks. This was a good episode, but maybe not exactly what I was expecting.

Entourage is one of those shows where I keep watching it week after week, but I’m not quite sure why. I caught up with the first season after I heard so much about it, but since then it’s been sort of going downhill for me. Before, this was a group of young kids, basically, making it in Hollywood and doing things we shleps could only dream of when we were that age. Now they’re older and they’re starting to look a little sad, playing the same game old game in the same way.

(Season 3, Episode 4)

Not that you needed any further convincing, but I am officially one effed-up individual. Dexter not only steals most of his proposal from someone else — a crazed killer, no less — but he’s also a serial killer … and I got all choked up at his proposal. What the hell is with that? It’s this damn head cold, I tell ya. Yeah, that’s what it is.

I said last week that I think Ramon is the Dexter to Miguel’s Harry, but in seeing how erratic Ramon acts when his temper is flaring, it’s hard to believe he’d be a killer for long without making major mistakes and getting caught. It’s still on the table as a possibility, as far as I’m concerned.
