Jenna Fischer and John KrasinskiOkay, not really. Maybe earlier in the season, but it became pretty clear that wasn’t going to happen. What we did get was a reunion of Michael and Holly which reaffirmed that there aren’t two people on the planet more suited for one another. Certainly no fully sane person would be able to be completely happy with either of them.

Well, maybe Holly because she seems a bit more grounded, but who else is there for Michael? The picnic was a fun diversion, as it showed us how petty and immature Charles Miner could be (I knew it), how clueless Michael remains capable of being (I knew it) and that Pam and Jim are ready for what’s next (that one I didn’t know).

The Wire(Season 2, Episodes 11-12)

Another season come and gone. I need to start pacing myself or I’m going to be very disappointed in a few weeks when there is no moreĀ Wire to watch. I don’t know if my self control is good enough to hold back though; the show is quite addictive and because it is so intriguing and slow to build, it’s really easy to burn two or three episodes at a time.

I thought that season two was just as satisfying as season one. It was definitely slower to develop, as several commenters warned me about. It was reassuring to see that they already began to set up season three in the final episodes of season two. I can’t wait to dive right back into the world of The Wire.

The Wire(Season 2, Episodes 5-7)

Well, I’m more than halfway through season two at this point and things are just starting to come together. The jigsaw puzzle isn’t quite done yet, but I’m pretty sure that all the pieces are on the table and all the edge pieces have been put together. Now that tricky middle portion needs to be figured out.

This season has definitely been slower than the first. So many more characters are involved, but luckily I am finding them engaging and interesting. Watching TV on DVD is a much different experience than watching it live, waiting a week or more for a new episode. I could definitely see myself getting frustrated having to wait in-between episodes during this slow-developing season. Luckily, I don’t have that problem, so I really don’t have anything to complain about.

The Wire(Season 2, Episodes 1-4)

During my diaries from season one, more than one commenter warned me about season two. I’m enjoying the season so far and there is a lot going on, but it is very different than the first season. All the characters that we got to know and love from the case during season one are split up at the beginning of season two, and during these first four episodes they’re just sort of floating along.

Aside from that we have a whole other group of characters from the port to get to know. I’ve been enjoying them so far. It seems like there is a lot going down on the port, more than just a little rivalry between Major Valchek and Sobotka. Sobotka’s clearly throwing around a lot of money, and it has to be coming from somewhere. You know how the old saying goes: “It’s all fun and games until someone stumbles upon thirteen dead Eastern European hookers.”
