TV Shows Off the Beaten Path – America’s Most Wanted
Saturday night television programming is usually slim pickings. I suppose they think the entire world is out dating or something. While I do like that some of the network shows from earlier in the week are re-broadcast on Saturday nights, I’ve often seen them by the time Saturday evening rolls around. So, although I’m not an avid viewer of America’s Most Wanted, I definitely catch some episodes.
Did you know that we are responsible for the capture of 1056 fugitives to date? Well, not me. I haven’t caught a one yet. I keep looking. Who knows? While the show is definitely a fine crime-fighting tool, it’s also a starting ground for new actors used in the dramatizations.

- As I’m from the St. Louis area, the story of Shawn Hornbeck’s shocking rescue and recovery after his disappearance for years was followed pretty closely. While he’s been mostly quiet since, recouping with family, he’ll be speaking out for the first time about his captivity on CBS’s 48 Hours Mystery.
- FOX sticks to its guns as it has for two decades, offering up back-to-back Cops. And ABC goes with the old standby of Saturday Night College Football. Let’s face it, nobody’s at home watching TV on Saturdays anymore. That’s why MyNetwork TV is having movie night at home with Walking Tall.
- So is there a difference between A&E’s Flip This House and TLC’s Flip That House? Other than one word? It seems to me like it’s the same show. I would have at least tried to get a little more creative with the name. After that, tune into (gasp!) another design show, Over Designed, featuring someone who’s obsessed with an “African King” motif.
Tonight on the tube: Chris Rock and other stuff you’re not home for
7:00p/6:00 Central
- TLC offers up the finale of the feel good story of Greensburg, KS as the community comes together to put the finishing touches on their homes destroyed by a tornado in Making It Home: Greensburg.

- The good times continue on TLC with Flip That House and Over Designed. In the former you can watch as a home is built on the cheap and rebuilt into something nice. On the latter, you can watch design expert Kenneth Brown teach a lady that when it comes to home decor, there is a things as too much penguins.
- I’ll be watching Cops on FOX so I can see what not to do the next time I get chased by Jonny Law. I’m taking bets on ABC’s Saturday Night College Football and I know I’m ‘a hafta bust some kneecaps if these bitches don’t pay! I’m looking at you, Jay Black!
