  • The New CW Sunday begins early at 5:30p/4:30 Central with Casey Affleck’s excursion to Pawnee-Oklahoma to meet with and learn about the Native Americans who make this their home in a new 4Real.

  • Then, In Harm’s Way takes a look at the dangerous profession of war photographer. Alternately, NBC kicks off their night of football with Football Night in America, while ABC offers up a fresh America’s Funniest Home Videos. Is there anything we haven’t seen yet ever on this show?
  • CBS’s 60 Minutes offers up stories of bullfighting brothers in Spain, warfare in Afghanistan, and the multi-billion dollar bank bailout in the US.

  • Yes, I know there were specials on MTV this afternoon featuring “Lost Scenes” from The Hills. I just don’t care. If you really want to watch them, and missed them, I’m sure MTV will repeat them ad nauseum throughout the next week.
  • What is on is NBC’s America’s Toughest Job, settling into a new timeslot just in time for the 5 remaining contestants to tackle search and rescue on Alaska’s Mt. McKinley. I wonder if they can see Russia from up there? TLC’s Flip That House comes at you with two back-to-back renovations stretching from Georgia to California.
  • ABC’s cooking up some more Saturday Night College Football. It looks as if games may vary by location so check your local listings. One thing that won’t vary is the ALCS Game 6 on TBS. After the Red Sox gave the Rays a stunning come-from-behind spanking, the action returns to Tampa.
  • The premiere of Hulk Hogan’s Celebrity Championship Wrestling features the likes of Tiffany, Todd Bridges and Danny Bonaduce: basically those “celebrities” who’ll do any kind of reality show to get some exposure and money. It’s the fact that it’s on CMT that makes little sense to me.
  • FOX offers up a two-hour block of Cops repeats, while CBS repeats Nicholas Brendon’s guest appearance on Criminal Minds from last season.

  • Tonight’s Hole in the Wall two-fer on FOX features face-offs of “North v. South” and “Geek v. Greek.” Meanwhile, hunger pangs start to affect alliances and challenge performances on a new Survivor: Gabon on CBS.
  • Hunger for that ring starts to gnaw on TBS’s ALCS Game 5. After the Phillies knocked out the Dodgers last night, the Rays can do the same to the Red Sox tonight?
  • On ABC’s Ugly Betty, Betty tries to make amends with Gio, which doesn’t go as well as she may have liked. Chloe has a rough day on The CW’s Smallville when she is asked if there’s anyone else she loves while strapped to a kryptonite-enhanced lie detector next to Jimmy.
  • It looks like people are forgetting about NBC’s Thursday night comedy line-up, which is a shame. After all, Jenna Elfman is tonight’s guest on My Name Is Earl as a cheerleading camp owner who hinders Earl’s chances to mark Randy off his list. Following this is a new Kath & Kim, which I’m still on the fence about. Tonight, Kath sets up a booth in the mall to boost awareness of her hair salon.

  • The ALCS Game 4 gets under way on TBS with Tampa Bay now on a roll and in control, up two games to one. But if baseball’s not your thing, maybe you’d rather watch the contestants of NBC’s The Biggest Loser face the longest challenge in show history, from sunup to sundown. For other competition fare, ABC’s Opportunity Knocks visits “The Long Island Brady Bunch,” a brood with nine children.
  • Scripted options include a new Lincoln Heights on ABC Family wherein the family reels after a shooting. You can follow that up with BBC America’s Gavin & Stacey at 8:40p/7:40 Central in which the couple returns from their honeymoon and Nessa’s secret is finally revealed. Yeah, I said this was on last week, but BBC America bumped the schedule a week so it’s on tonight instead.
  • Gibbs learns more about his past on CBS’s NCIS as a murder case leads to the town he grew up in. Ralph Waite guests as his father. Meanwhile, over on FOX’s House, the titular doctor’s father dies and as he reluctantly goes to the funeral we learn how he and Wilson first met. Oh, and someone almost dies and is saved at the last second.

  • The NASCAR Sprint Cup Series returns to prime time on ABC at 7:30p/6:30 Central with the Bank of America 500 at the Lowe’s Motor Speedway in Charlotte, NC.

  • The Dodgers look to rebound in the NLCS Game 2 on FOX against the Phillies after dropping Game One 3-2 last night.

8:00p/7:00 Central

  • Later, on TBS, Boston and Tampa Bay get their contest on as the ALCS Game 1 begins.
  • You could also tune into domestic squabbling as a pampered “queen” switches families with a strong woman on ABC’s Wife Swap. Or just go with the scripted squabbling and fighting on MyNetwork TV’s WWE SmackDown!
  • Rochelle finds it harder to ditch an ex-con as a friend than she intended on a new Everybody Hates Chris on The CW. Then, on The Game, Melanie decides to get to the bottom of Janay’s pregnancy and find out once and for all who that baby’s daddy is.
  • Alternately, Rachel Leigh Cook guests as Melinda reconnects with her old high school friends when a former classmate dies on CBS’s Ghost Whisperer. Does this mean high school flashbacks starring Jennifer Love Hewitt? They should just grab footage from Part of Five.
  • The ten remaining contestants on NBC’s America’s Toughest Jobs compete as loggers tonight. Meanwhile, Jeopardy legend Ken Jennings asks himself FOX’s tough question, Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader?
