See Jane Clack – Weeds vs. Hung vs. Breaking Bad

While pondering a topic for this week’s See Jane Clack, I was struck by the number of shows featuring characters who turn to unscrupulous or illegal means to make a living. These are tough times, but would I turn to selling pot, prostituting myself, or becoming a drug kingpin to make a living? Probably not. I’m too much of a chicken.
Still … with a family to feed, and no other immediate way to pay the mortgage and buy groceries, some of these options do have their appeal.
These folks are not that much different from the rest of us. Their connecting link is that they’ve all experienced a life trauma that’s made them desperate, and/or fearless. It’s stuff that could happen to any one of us. Lives and luck can turn in a split second.
Breaking Bad finale goes boom

I’ve been hooked on this show since the beginning, but if you were sitting on the fence at all or weren’t all that sure about whether you liked it or not, I can imagine that this would be where the show Blew the Hatch for many people. This was a completely unexpected ending, one that no one could have anticipated without having access to some sort of spoilers.
Breaking Bad – For Jesse’s own good

Well, there goes my body bag theory for the finale.
What we saw in the final scene of this episode was Walter White hovering on the line between saving his own ass and saving Jesse’s. Without words, Walter White’s reaction to Jane choking on her own vomit spoke volumes. He went from wondering what to do to save her, to wondering how he’d explain his being there to any paramedics, to deciding her death would be the best thing for everyone. Well, best for everyone other than her and her father, of course.
And so begins Walter White’s hatred of women

Sunday night’s episode of Breaking Bad showed Walter White’s life take quite a few turns. He learns his previously inoperable cancer is now operable, he nearly (or possibly already did) miss out on a million-dollar deal with the blue stuff, misses out on the birth of his daughter and, quite possibly, has a wife who’s very close to cheating on him. Three out of those four are negatives, and they all have something in common: directly or indirectly, they involve women in Walt’s life.
Breaking Bad – Who are in the body bags and why?

All season long we’ve seen the mostly black-and-white flashbacks to some sort of catastophe at the White household. Piece by piece, we’ve seen the evidence unfold before us, showing us with increasing severity the things that have gone down. In this week’s episode, we see that things really appear to be more grim than we could have imagined, with the appearance of two body bags in the Whites’ driveway.
I’ve got what I think is a reasonable theory for what happens to cause the death and destruction at the home, and it’s not all that exciting.
Breaking Bad – What’s Walter’s problem?

Last night we got our answers as to how Breaking Bad could possibly continue with Walter apparently knocking on death’s door. After an intense and near-death experience in the desert with Jesse, cooking up over $1.2 million in blue ice, Walter learns what should be even better news about his cancer and the progress of the treatments he’s taken. And what does Walter do? He punches the shit out of a bathroom paper towel dispenser.
Where is Breaking Bad going?

One of the — if not the — central points of Breaking Bad is the short life left for main character Walter White. If it wasn’t for his terminal cancer, he wouldn’t have tread into the criminal world he’s now very much a part of. Between Walter’s short life and the DEA quickly closing in on his operation, I started wondering what could possibly be the next big move for the show. Here are a few of those thoughts….
Walter White gets caught — If Walter were to get implicated as the ringleader behind the blue meth, his life would be over. Even lawyer Saul won’t be able to get Walter off, with our without bribe money flying around. Let’s go a step further and say Walter does get off on drug charges — there’s no way he could possibly continue without eyes on him at every moment.
