What’s your favorite network sitcom? – Poll

It's the poll you've been waiting for! We've narrowed down the CliqueClack readers' choices to one show per network. Now, those winners face off to see who takes the ultimate title of 'favorite current network live-action sitcom' in our 2012 Comedy Bracket finals. May the best show win!

Maybe you’ve been with us as we’ve narrowed down the favorites on each network, or maybe you’ve come only today to vote for your favorite show. Will it be Cougar Town, Community, How I Met Your Mother or New Girl? The CliqueClack writers have formed their opinions … can they influence yours?

Debbie:

This was a tough pick for me, but in the end, I’ve got to go with Cougar Town. It was a close call with Community, but consistent (and red wine) won over clever. If I was asked this a few months ago, I may have leaned more toward Community, but with both shows returning around the same time, I’ve enjoyed Cougar Town‘s comeback much more (although the third episode of Community was brilliant), with many more out-loud laughs.

Michael:

Zooey! Schmidt! Nick! Winston! Cece! What … that’s not enough to convince you New Girl is going to win this thing? I mean … what does New Girl have those other shows do not?

Two words: Douchebag Jar.

Debbie:

And to think it actually crossed my mind to argue that point. …

Bob:

I do enjoy Cougar Town a lot, but I think I have to give this to Community for the insane amount of creativity that they bring to the genre. Not every episode is a home run, but when they connect, they knock it out of the park.

Michael:

*points at “Douchebag Jar” above*

An:

What?! Choose between Community or Cougar Town or New Girl? What if some network executive looks at our poll and decides to ax their show because it didn’t win? Honestly, choose between three awesome shows?! What?! No one wins. In that case, we all lose.

In fact, I refuse to vote. I will just vote once each day. One for Community. One for Cougar Town. And one for New Girl. I encourage you all to do the same.

However, HIMYM? Can I vote for that to NOT win?

Ivey:

These choices? No doubt I’d give the nod to How I Met Your Mother. As I’ve said before, I’m a big fan of the non-linear storytelling, and the fact that they’re not afraid to try something different.

An:

Um, Ives. For HIMYM, I would call that a vote for doing the same thing every single week under the premise of not. Lily and Marshall, Ms. Sparkles and Ted. Barney and Robin? How many times have the same plot lines regarding Lily and Marshall’s awesomeness as a couple and the will they-won’t they of LM or BM recur?

Compared to Community, the Dreamatorium, and evil Abed, not to mention New Girl with its insanity and Cougar Town with Grayson’s kid, big Carl and the safety helmet, where things continuously change; I have to say … no contest.

Seriously, when are we seeing that mother again?

Michael:

For An:

JAR … !!!

An:

What?! How is that douchey? Facts are not douchey! It’s only douchey if I say I’m typing this from my neo-Victorian steampunk iPhone 5 while wearing velveteen rabbit slippers and talking to my good friend Stephen Hot-King. …

Michael:

JAR … !!!

Katie:

While none of these are particularly bad choices, I have to go with Community. Even when there are episodes that don’t work, often times they work in the greater scheme of the season. And Dean Pelton is the perfect mix of weird and adorable.

Julia:

It’s pretty easy from this list to choose Community. It’s smart, hysterical, multi-layered, innovative, and all-around pretty freaking great. Though really, I’m biased. Whoever won the NBC bracket was going to win my vote. That place is a magical land of sitcom-y goodness.

Except for Whitney.

Kim:

I don’t really watch any of these shows on a regular basis, but if forced to choose one, I guess my vote would go for Community because it does make me laugh the times I do watch it.

Now it’s your turn, dear readers — which show will take the title of ‘favorite network sitcom’? Vote in the poll once a day until the poll expires on Sunday, April 8 at midnight — good luck to your favorite show!

I vote for Community. Cougar Town is a close second. I used to love HIMYM in the early seasons, but now it’s just barely above average, better than some series but not in the top class. I haven’t watched New Girl so don’t really know anything about it.

I voted for Community but it was tough, my hand hovered over New Girl!! I’ll vote for them tomorrow.

There is no way Community is not winning this.

Um, my favorite sitcoms are The Big Bang Theory and 2 Broke Girls, but I voted for How I Met Your Mother.

Happy Endings.

Cougar Town hands down! I love Community as well, but there is more warmth/heart between the characters on CT, and it has funnier quotes. Also, no one really does it better than Bill Lawrence. But Community would be a close second, followed by New Girl.

In order, The Big Bang Theory, Modern Family, Parks and Recreation, and Breaking In (even though Human Targeted).

I want to run a non-profit shelter for handicapped animals. Dogs with wheels for hind legs, deaf hamsters, one-eyed cats.

Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice.

It’s a a thought… with another thought’s hat on.

Hi, I’m really sorry that the hivemind of reddit.com/r/communtiy hijacked your poll. Before someone posted the link Community apparently was way behind.

I’m pretty sure they don’t mind, Kristy…. it’s not like this is a private forum. Plus, more pageviews!
