Curb the Character Cancellation – Poll

The end of the regular television season is almost here, which means it is also time to find out if your favorite show will return in the fall. What character would you miss the most from your favorite borderline show? Vote for your favorite in CliqueClack's Curb the Character Cancellation Poll!

Over the last week, we ran a Curb the Cancellation Poll, which asked you to vote for the borderline show you most wanted to see come back again in the Fall. The Chicago Code led the contest all week, until that very last day when V fans bombarded the poll and it took the lead. In the end, the top 5 were V (33%), The Chicago Code (32%), Lie to Me (15%), Chuck (10%), and Human Target (6%).

All of these shows are still not renewed for another season. This week, we look at the favorite characters from these borderline shows. Which character will you miss the most if the show doesn’t return?

Here are some of the nominations and favorites from the Clackers!

Jane: One word. Two characters. Jeffster. Would miss them terribly.

Deb: It’s hard to choose which character I’d nominate from Human Target because for me, it’s all about the trio of Chance, Winston and Guerrero. I’ve said before that I don’t think there’s been as successful of an all-male trio on TV since Magnum PI‘s Magnum, Rick and TC. They’ve created a spectacular dynamic. If I had to choose, though, it would be Chance and Guerrero that I would miss the most of the three, because they have the best individual moments as well.

Brittany: I have that same problem with Chicago Code. I like all the characters, but particularly the trio of Jarek, Teresa and Caleb. I’d pick Jarek and Teresa to include for the same reason Deb said – they also have the most great individual moments. I couldn’t see the show without either of them for completely different reasons. Jarek is an incredibly watchable force on TV the likes of which I haven’t seen since Frank Pembleton on Homicide, and Teresa is such a well-written, strong female character without the show needing brownie points for having a strong female character.

Ivey: If I were still watching Human Target, it might be a little bit more difficult, because Guerrero is pretty unique. But, of the shows on this list, the only character that I would really miss is Dr. Cal Lightman from Lie to Me. My affection towards the relationship between he and his daughter is well known, but there’s not many characters like him on TV, and Tim Roth is probably one of the more under appreciated actors on TV today.

Bob: I think I would nominate Anna from V. I think Morena Baccarin does a great lizardy job with the role. Anna comes off as delightfully evil and completely devoid of emotion, except for when things go wrong and those troublesome human emotions bubble to the surface in a grade A freak out. All the scheming and killing makes for good fun. I would miss Anna.

Ruby: I would just second what Bob said about Anna from V.

Carla: This is a difficult decision. I love the uniqueness of Chuck and the characters on the show. But, I am going to have to pick Anna from V as well. Her story is one that I want to see continued. What are her plans? How will they be derailed? And, most importantly, how will human emotions change her?

It looks like V’s Anna has the most support from the Clackers — which character would you miss the most if they were gone from television forever? Vote and then share your reason in the comments. You can vote once a day until Wednesday night 11:59 p.m. ET when the poll closes.

Stop this Lie to me thing, the “lead” actress is awful, and Roth’s third season was weird, but happy to know he is about to direct a movie!

Anna. I love this character so much.

I’m with Ivey and all things “Lie To Me,” but I’m also a gigantic “Chuck” fan. I’m annoyed there’s no choice for “John Casey.”

Grrrrr….

Blame me. I was going to include him, but thought the list was getting too long and Chuck already had the most characters in the poll. I decided to go with Morgan over Casey.

I will miss all the Chuck characters if it doesn’t get renewed. Nothing like them elsewhere on television.

I understand, Carla. I noticed the plethora of “Chuck” characters on the list and I’m just being silly about the Casey thing. As far as I’m concerned you could’ve lumped the entire cast of “Chuck” into one selection because I like ‘em all!

Yep, “Chuck” is unique in that it’s a silly spy dramedy that’s lighthearted and family-friendly whilst being extremely entertaining. We still have Subway every week while watching “Chuck,” but that has a lot to do with both the fact that we adore Subway and there’s 3 of them within 2 miles of my house! Besides, you can’t beat a $5 footlong.

Wish I had known about this poll I would of voted for Anna of V too. V is such a good show. I also love Human Target. Sorry they are taking such good shows off the air. But that is the way they usually do things. Then they bring in more reality shows … YUCK!

You can vote once a day through next Wednesday!

If I had know about the poll, I would have voted for The Event.
I guess we will never know how it ends, if it dosen’t return. A wonderful show. Not many of them around any more.

I have to go with Anna. She is from V and i love V. I would have to say Mitchell if not Baccarin.

Anna is the Gicco Lizard underneath.
Teresa is ALL woman!

May 9, 2011 at 12:26 AM

Please replace the actress playing Teresa with someone like Vanessa Williams or anyone else that can act. If not, please do not renew The Chicago Code.

Jennifer Beals is fantastic in The Chicago Code! And if she wasn’t, she wouldn’t have obsessed fans making screen names out of her name written backwards and saying how much they don’t like her. Kooky!!!!

I agree with Motaterz.

Jennifer Beals is really fantastic and doing a great job in The Chicago Code.

And if the show is renewed, one of the many reasons will be Jennifer Beals and her acting and character.

PS. And what about her fans? Beals Fans Rock!

Alderman Gibbons is my write-in choice. I’ll miss Jarek Wysocki and Teresa Colvin from The Chicago Code too, but Gibbons is the best villain on TV right now!! (edging out Justified’s Boyd Crowder) So I would REALLY miss him!!!

May 10, 2011 at 5:44 AM

Teresa Colvin forever.Love JB
