SYTYCD – Team high school musical is, like, so whatever

sytycd_mollee_nathanCall the pairing of Nathan and Mollee whatever you want, but I will call them out for what they’ve been — lucky. They’re very lucky America is stupid.

While Nigel was maybe too harsh on Nathan for the wrong reasons (using the words “hot” and “cool” are not signs of immaturity), both he and Mollee were by far the worst of this week. So far they’ve been lucky enough to get good dances in popular categories like Bollywood. In fact, I’d argue that they also lucked out as far as this week went — Latin ballroom is usually a universal crowd-pleaser. It’s fast, it’s fun, and it’s sexy, unlike, say, slow waltz or contemporary. If Mollee and Nathan don’t have the maturity to handle  this, how are they supposed to handle the rest of the competition?

Pauline and Peter, who did go home, performed light-years above Mollee and Nathan, not that that took a lot of skill. I’ve been a faithful So You Think You Can Dance watcher since the second season, and I can say quite honestly that that was one of the worst performances I’ve ever seen — ever. I’m not sure Pauline and Peter would have lasted many more weeks, but at least when I watched their dance I was entertained by a quick-step for the first time in the history of the show.

Let’s call a spade a spade — Nathan and Mollee were safe because Nathan’s cute, and dimpled, and appeals to the pre-teen demographic watching the show. Anyone else would have been booted faster than you can say “dance for your life.” And no, Nathan, your pathetic puppy-dog mugging to the camera when Pauline and Peter got eliminated did not endear you to me.

I was watching this episode with my sister (as always), and she turned to me with a horrified look and went, “wait, does this mean we’ll never get rid of these two?” If even a screw-up of the proportion they just did wasn’t enough to send them home, what will be? Will I have to suffer through these two, the new heinous set, and a lack of Mia Michaels the entire season?

Oh, dear lord.

Did you write the article about Nigel being an ass because last night Nigel was an ass!!!

He keeps that bullshit up I will be ditching the show, what an ass! Telling the audience to shut up and that what they thought was wrong was bullshit. Nigel was wrong, Nigel is an ass. This show was always about fun dancing, and not the best dancing, Nigel even said that. I guess the stick up his ass last night made him forget that.

Nigel keeps telling his viewers to shut up because they are wrong there will be less and less viewers to bitch at. This show has one more chance before I ditch it.

So to review, Nigel can go to hell.
