Tonight on the tube: Larry the Cable Guy’s Christmas special

8:00p/7:00 Central

  • It’s the first season finale of Toughest Race on Earth: Iditarod on the Discovery Channel. Nome is less than 100 miles away and it’s time for the racers to dig deep.
  • Tonight on ABC, Wife Swap features switches between a mother who’s given up her own dreams to allow her husband 30 years of delusions that he can still be a rock icon and a mother of nine who rules with an iron fist. TLC brings another Real Simple. Real Life.
  • Over on CBS, Melinda tries to help a man suffering from amnesia on Ghost Whisperer. And I’ll bet Jim’s hanging around, too. In fact, if you’ve seen last week’s episode take a wild guess who the man with amnesia is.
  • Much easier to figure out is MyNetwork TV’s WWE SmackDown! See a man. Smack him down. All hail Vince! Have we had the wrestling edition of FOX’s Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader? yet? How about the babes of wrestling edition of NBC’s Deal or No Deal?
  • Chris’ popularity is put to the test in high school when the dorkiest girl in school asks him out on The CW’s Everybody Hates Chris. Then, on The Game, Melanie finds a “McHottie” at work.

9:00p/8:00 Central

  • CMT is giving 90 minutes to Larry the Cable Guy’s Star Studded Christmas Extravaganza. Expect lots of country stars, Bill Engvall, Jeff Foxworthy, Terry Bradshaw, Lewis Black and more!
  • Perhaps as an homage to Toughest Race, on Discovery’s Survivorman Les is stranded way north and must deal with 24-hour daylight and a harsh arctic climate. The History Channel brings another Gangland, while Animal Planet is all new with Whale Wars.
  • TLC takes a look at some of their greatest challenges on What Not to Wear, while ABC’s Supernanny Jo Frost helps a woman who’s lost her husband suddenly to cancer learn how to raise two young children alone.
  • Friday goes mad and it’s a race against the clock as Crusoe tries to find the rare plant needed to cure him on NBC. Cartoon Network is new with Star Wars: The Clone Wars.
  • Sci Fi Friday kicks off with Stargate: Atlantis. Tonight, could Dr. McKay’s rival really have the “cure” for global warming?

10:00p/9:00 Central

  • Sci Fi’s Sanctuary lookat a young man who drew his father’s death. Is it reality, or something else? On Starz’s Crash, Cesar takes his first steps on US soil, while Anthony takes Ben into the desert to see his shaman.
  • I don’t know what’s more exciting. History’s examination of the “ivory trackers” on Shadow Force, or the third season premiere of Say Yes to the Dress on TLC. Oh who am I kidding … I say yes! I say YES!
  • 20/20 brings us three big stories on ABC. First, should the government bail out the automakers? Then, are parents abusing Nebraska’s “Safe Haven Law” just a way for parents to walk away from children of any age? Finally, Diane Sawyer sits down with escort Ashley Dupre while the cameraman waits to zoom in on any possible tears.
  • USA’s The Starter Wife is chugging along and looking good, while NBC’s Lipstick Jungle probably could use some ratings love if it’s going to stick around. Tonight, Mary Tyler Moore guests as Wendy’s mom as Wendy plans a big Thanksgiving dinner.
  • But you’ll probably all be watching Don and his team try to rescue survivors and see what caused two trains to collide on CBS’s Numb3rs.
